heathrow to thailand with qatar airways
Advantages: movie choice, comfort, food, incl;usive drinks. Disadvantages: none
...of Qatar). I chose qatar as the price, in my opinion, was fairly priced for such a long haul flight and i was aware that they are one of the only 5 star airlines in the world. I believe that i recieved extremely good service aboard these flights, recieving regular food every couple of hours and as many free drinks as i wanted for the duration. Not only this bu the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout, especially on the way home when ...

Gulf Air
Advantages: clean, comfortable, good service Disadvantages: No direct flights out to Asia
I have flown repeatedly with Gulf Air out to various places in Asia from India to South East Asia and the far east. These have always required a stop-off in the gulf area of the Middle East, almost always Bahrain which is the airlines hub. The airline has connections from London, Paris and Frankfurt out to Bahrain and from there there are plenty of connections out to Asia and to various places around the Middle East and Islamic countries such as ... ...reason I have flown with Gulf Air is that they have consistently been the cheapest option on offer for flights out to Asia-perhaps because of the required change over. I have flown with them for 3 return trips (making that 12 flights given they all needed a change over) and for each of these Gulf Air was the cheapest available flight, twice when I had booked a good few months in advnace and once when I needed a relatively last minute flight. They ...

not a royal treat
Advantages: none really Disadvantages: loads
let's start at the airport the guy who served was clearly not english but tried so hard to sound like it I just could not understand a word. the service itself is ok but far from the best the plane was clean no delay. The flight entertaining system is the most rubbish thing i ever got a tiny screen to watch no individual screen for an international flight OMG!!! So you must watch what they decided to play on TV somes kinds of kids movie very boring ... ...is so poor only 1 channel with music the rest is arabic music and not the best. The food is average nothing too special, luckily i did arrived to Amman where i needed to catch another fly with them to Lebanon, what a wonder when I got in this plane and found out every seat have their own screen just for an hour flight. On my return fly the entertainment system wasn't working so got to spend doing nothing else than just looking out the window. ...

Nice salt and pepper pots too.
Advantages: Comfortable seat, warm and friendly service, good food Disadvantages: Planes a bit old, Tehran airport confusing
...expect from a flight on Iran Air; my imagination ran wild. A colleague of mine, who has flown with them several times, had told me that they are perfectly comfortable, the service reasonable and I would enjoy the flight. So early in 2003 I got the opportunity and took a flight from Tehran to Almaty, Kazakhstan, in Business Class.
CHECK IN
I was just in transit at Tehran, so didn’t experience the regular check in process. My inbound flight had arrived ... ...what welcome to expect on Iran Air but within minutes I felt quite at home.
Most of the service was provided by a couple of stewards; there were some stewardesses as well, who were involved with the bar and meal services but otherwise I didn’t see much of them. Their uniforms were rather normal uniforms, with a high neckline, full length sleeves and ankle length skirts.
The steward who provided most of the service spoke reasonable English. He was ...
