I have been on holiday with Airtours two times in the past, once to Tunisia and once to Greece. There were both package holidays. The flights to both destinations and back were quite satisfactory and so were the hotels I stayed with my family. However, the fact that the hotels were located in the middle of nowhere was really annoying. In Tunisia, despite the fact that the hotel was beautiful and the rooms were alaways clean, it was located miles apart from every town and we had to use taxis and other means of transportation (which were rather unlikely to find) to go anywhere. This made us stay in the hotel most of the days or spend a fortune whenever we decided to travel around. Furthermore, the food and especially the salads at the buffet in the hotel restaurant were kept without ice, this made us feel disgusted looking all sort of inscets flying around. Our holiday in Greece was also spoilt by the fact that our hotel was located very far from the nearest city and there was nothing to see around there. We had to use on a daily basis the local transportation or taxis in order to visit any sites. This caused disapointment and inconvenience to my family once more.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
I would agree with Linda -if you've booked named accommodation you should be able to get some idea of the hotels location from your travel agent or the brochure. If you've booked allocation on arrival then you have to take your chances - you do get what you pay for I'm afraid.

I also have travelled alone to both areas by airtours but unlike yourself finished up in loverly areas close to beaches transport etc. I do not know how you booked? but if it was with a teravel agent then I suggest you look at the hotel guides they have (not the leaflets/books)This will highlight area and building works etc hope it helps.
