Advantages: Mediocre location, cheap Disadvantages: Could be cleaner, no towel!
...I went on holiday recently with a bunch of lads to celebrate our 21st Birthday....what we did in Amsterdam though for that is a different story xD
However on browsing the internet we originally settled on a hotel which was said to be literally 1 minute walk away from the city centre. However due to some stairs being described as the 'Stairs of Death'
We decided to upgrade to a 2* Hotel instead!
On arrival in Amsterdam, we found a booth at the train station where you typed in the address of your hotel, and it located it for you and printed it along with tram lines and numbers to get,
So we printed and thought with our luggage, oh that doesn't look far, we'll walk there. And truth be told, it was only what 20 minutes walk away from the centre. Maybe a bit more depending on your walking pace. But with the Luggage it took a little while...

...San Francisco - What a wonderful place
Commuting - My choice of transport to and from the city has to be via a ferry from Larkspur (near San Rafael) across the bay, past San Quentin Prison, with amazing views of the surrounding area including Alcatraz. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes each way.
You arrive at the ferry terminal (clock tower) within walking distance of Market Street (main shopping area), to reach fishermans Wharf or Pier 39 it is probably best to catch the bus. Although on occasions you may be offered a rick-shaw ride or even a limo ride for a small fee. (The limo ride depending on who it is with is occasionally cheaper than catching the bus).
Eating in San Francisco can be a wonderful experience, the variety of restaurants is unbelievable, try as many different restaurants as you can.

...To me Glasgow feels much more like a city than Edinburgh. The two are complete contrasts, with Glasgow being more concrete and urban in comparison to the olde worlde cobbled streets of Edinburgh. While the centre of Edinburgh feels just like a big town, Glasgow has more of a city feel to it. Scotlands main airport is Glasgow international,and the city even as an underground system "The clockwork orange", which is a bit strange as it's not the nations capital. Shopping in the city is great, with Buchanan Street, Argyle St, and Sauchiehall St. all brimming with shops....
