Advantages: Great value for 5* hotel, very modern, clean Disadvantages: Air-con was broken down..
Just came back from our long weekend (2nd May Bank Holiday, 26May-28May) with 4 other friends. We went to Berlin with Easyjet; it was about £120 per person (a little pricey due to peak period) and the flight time is a little inconvenience because it departed at 6.30am, and check-in time is from 4.30am so we took the last train from London Bridge to Luton airport (about 1hour). We got there by 1.30am and slept on the benches for few hours.
There are three airports in Berlin, which are Schoenefled, Tegel and Tempelhof. We went to Berlin Schoenefled with Easyjet and this is the furthest airport from town centre and to the hotel (Grand HotelEsplanade), it took us about 1 hour. The closest airport is Berlin Tempelhof it would be about 20 minutes from town and 30minutes from Berlin Tegel Airport to town.

Advantages: Lovely Hotel, Brilliant Staff and Excellent Location Disadvantages: Not on a Backpacker's Budget
I visited the EsplanadeHotel, Fremantle, WA in June 2006 to run a conference for work, which really is the only way I would have been able to stay there, as it is a little out of my price range (although most places are!). Certainly though, the price does reflect the quality of the hotel as the standards of customer care, both to business guests and tourists is absolutely excellent.
The hotel has a long history, with a building in various forms (customs house etc) being on the current site since 1896. Through the years it has expanded, most notably for the 1987 Americas Cup defence, and now comprises 300 bedrooms and excellent conference/event facilities.
In terms of being a business guest, my colleagues and I found the conference accommodations to be well furnished and with full support from a staff for whom nothing is any ...
Advantages: Great value for a spacious clean room including breakfast Disadvantages: The multi-complex is an architectural design disaster
The hotel is on the top 3 floors of a multi-complex. Nothing luxurious but good value for a clean spacious room, breakfast included with 3 drinks from the minibar. The entrance to the hotel is not obvious - look for the glass door next to the house-number and mailboxes - on the door it says in black letters "Hotel Rezeption". Enter and take the elevator to the 6th floor for the hotel reception. The hotel is an architectural / design disaster but if you follow the signs you'll make it to the reception and your room. Corridors and staircases are dimly lit until you press on one of the light switches with a small orange lamp on it.
A day pass for all public transport for one zone (for the Tri-zone) costs EUR 6 per person. If you stay in Maximilian Hotel, take Bus 16 on Hauptstrasse to Rathaus (about 5 min) and change to Bus 55 to Basel ...
