Advantages: hospitable, welcoming, laid back, beautiful Disadvantages: public transport especially buses are not very reliable
...living in this city. They are able to communicate in the local dialect which is Malay (the official language of Malaysia).
The must see places in this city are the Tanjung Bidara which is a beautiful sandy beach and the Flor Di Lama which is a ship used by Alfonso de Al Buquer when he left Melaka during the Dutch intervention in 1641. The ship was said to have sunk and was retrieved by the people several hundreds of years later. It is now a museum. Finally if you have time to spare, you should go by doing some shopping as things are relatively cheap. £5 can get you something decent.
On the whole i liked Melaka because it was a city that gave me loads of pleasure to just kickback and get value for my money....

Advantages: Good cheap hotel and excellent location Disadvantages: Busy - but very popular
...It was a very good place to stay - it was a cheap hotel with a convenient location. The prices where very good and the staff friendly.
When traveling in Malacca its important to make sure you are not too in the centre of town because traffic is very bad there, so this hotel on the edge of town offers the best solution. Its a friendly place with parking right outside and this nice chicken restaurant right outside on the ground floor. The coffee shops are near by.
The rooms as good and many types if you need a large room for a family or your relatives are staying with you. It was nice to have an adjoining room for my kidss. It recommend it again to anyone....

Advantages: Fascinating cultural and historic destination Disadvantages: too much to see in one day

The Tourist Board can give you information about the well signposted and annotated ‘heritage walk’ as well as maps and details of accommodation, events and other attractions. If that wasn’t enough, in the area outside Melaka, towards Ayer Keroh, there is a butterfly farm, zoo and the Cultural Village where you can see examples of Malay architecture from the different states of Malaysia.
As for accommodation, well, I have experience of a couple of Hotels in Melaka, for example the Renaissance Melaka provides very good accommodation. For those wishing to stay in the recreated ambience of the Baba...
