I called in for lunch at your restaurant today with my wife and mother-in-law, we were so impressed that I felt the need to write and let you know.
Both my wife (a nutritionist) and I are very critical about the quality of food and service that you generally get in restaurants. It seems to be the norm to be given poor quality ingredients, not very well cooked and poorly presented. This is usually accompanied by table service from staff that have no proper training and should only be allowed to serve in MacDonalds. I would therefore like to commend your restaurant for delivering a very enjoyable eating experience. We only called in to get a fairly quick lunch without any great expectations, so what we received was quite a surprise. The food was excellent, everything was beautifully cooked and presented, the desserts were even better. It was also great to see a waitress that knew what she was doing, her manner was very good and professional. She presented, opened and offered the wine for tasting in the correct way, this is always a telling part of the service to come. Throughout the meal she was attentive, even when the restaurant got quite busy.
We live in Cowes on the island and commented that we wished you were nearer to us.
Please pass our compliments on to the team who were working today and look forward to visiting again next time we come over to Southsea.
