Advantages: good location, clean and comfortable Disadvantages: none
...station nearby, taxis can quickly and easily take you anywhere. Zamalek is less than 5 minutes from the downtown area, where the Egyptian museum is located, 10 minutes away from Islamic Cairo (the Azhar, Khan Al-Khalili market) and about 20 minutes from the Pyramids. The hotel can also arrange tours and cars for you.
Checking in was very easy and staff were very helpful even at 3am! They spoke fairly good English which helped. My flight out of Egypt was at 10pm but was able to leave my luaggage in the hotel after I had checked out which was very useful.
The hotel rooms are quite big and spacious and are very comfortable and clean. This hotel is probably more aimed at business travellers than tourists but is good for both. For business travellers, there are internet, fax and conference facilities. The cleanliness was the main thing that I...

Advantages: location location location Disadvantages: further away from downtown
...a pyramid view room, as they may put you in a room overlooking the car park if your not specific. also, as with a city area, it can get a bit smoggy but that al part of the exerience. another thing is that it is far from the downtown area of cairo, where there is a lot more to be seen, but you can split up your stay in cairo and spend a nght in a hotel downtown.
advanttages obviously include the lcation at not an extortionate price. the swimming pool is good, staff are good and food wasn too bad. it was great to visit the pyramids, go back to this hotel, and step out in the evening to take in the atmosphere and vibe, and explore the area (if you fancy that sort of thing).
all in all, it is a good hotel, with the location being the best bit about it. if it was located anywhere else, it would be just that, a good hotel. the pyramids really do...

Advantages: unique, famous sites Disadvantages: lots of con artists
...If you like people...noise, getting out and about... famous places.. like talking then Cario is the place!
I have been there twice. The famous museum, the tower, the Slahudeen Fort are all a must... not forgetting the pyramids!
I would strongly advise going with a tour/hotel operator.. even better if you know someone from there they will fix you up!
You have to keep sharp, and get into the habit of haggaling!
There are so many people in Cario.. try and keep away from Tahrir Square.. full rif-raf, and con artists. Choose a hotel on the outskirts. It is great to learn Arabic, Al Fajar centre is worth checking out! it is Nasr City.
On the whole it is a good short term holiday, but be sharp and go with the flow!...

The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star more
