...Dubai is the second emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and lays along the shore that face the Arab Gulf.
Dubai is divided in two parts by a small creek. The southern section is called Bur Dubai while the northern is Deira. The two sections are linked by two bridges, Al Maktoum and Al Garhoud, and one tunnel, Al Shindagha.
Twenty minutes away are the beautiful sands of Jumeirah Beach.
Its skyline is very similar to many American cities with skyscrapers and towers, but despite of this fact Dubai keeps some artistic and cultural interesting places.
The oldAl Fahidi fort is located in the Bur Dubai sector and now hosts the Museum of Dubai where are displayed fire-arms, sidearms, bayonets, traditional costumes and musical instruments. In the external courtyard there are many different types of wooden boats used by locals...

...and sprinklers. AbuDhabi is actually an island about 10 miles long by 7 miles wide and is linked to the mainland by two bridges carrying modern dual carriageways to Al Ain and Dubai. The climate in the Arabian Gulf area from November to April is excellent with temperatures ranging from 60 degrees at night to 90 degrees during the day, with the occasional short, sharp but heavy showers. The remainder of the year is very hot and humid with temperatures well over 100 degrees – hence the well known local saying “It’s tough in the Gulf.” Air conditioning is essential in all buildings and cars.
The apartment was only ten minutes drive from the beach and each day we endured a hair-raising race in a taxi driven by local maniacs who seemed hell-bent on self-destruction in their aggressive attempts to reach pole position...

(k) Back to the Airport for my flight home.
Transport:-
From the Airport we picked up a few travel maps and they were helpful. There was not much that I could get on the internet. Dubai is not very big. There are 2 major area's. They are Deria and Bur Dubai. It is a good idea to stay in Deria as then you are more mobile. We did walk on our first day but soon realised that Taxi in Dubai is very cheap and a good idea to use them rather than...
