Al Larin, Cortina D'Ampezzo

...Cortina d’Ampezzo is called the jewel of the Dolomites. It deserves this for its unique and beautiful location, and..also, for the fact that many rich people go there and are not shy of displaying their jewels! A flat in Cortina sells for around the same price of an equivalent flat in Chelsea. A good place to stay is the Internationl Camping Olympia, otherwise, my suggestion would be to stay in some agritourist ppalce not far from Cortina. If you fancy visiting the town, you can come for a day trip by car, while if you want to go trekking in summer, you do not need to be based here. I only visited Cortina during winter once, but I was too young to remember.... Read review

...Cortina. It isn't so simple to tell what Cortina is. When you think to Cortina the first idea that comes to mind is 'a rich place for really rich people' and you think to politicians, to movie people or to rich people in general that always go there for holidays. Well, this is a part of what Cortina is, we should tell that this is its visiting-card for tourists, visitors and foreign people who like the idea to meet the 'high society'. But Cortina is more than this: much, much more. The Pearl of Dolomites is really something extraordinary, that also lies in an extraodinary region. The sorrounding of Cortina, the Dolomits are all beatiful. For example Selva of Val Gardena is an extraordinary small village that lies where three streets cross themselves, and any street go up to a mountain Pass (The Sella, The Gardena, the Fedaia). I... ...The family Verro, the same of La Contea, has opened in 1992 it's agricultural company. The boss here is Claudia Francalanci, Antonio Verro's wife. Claudia's father has Tuscany origin and his family comes down of artisan tradition, and the mother has extraction peasant as all her family and worked always in the production of wines. In Miss Claudia's wine cellar, Al nido della cinciallegra, you can find a high productions of wines not only of this area, but also from all Italy and others places around the world. But her jewels are the wines that she produces in her agricultural company.
