Burj Dubai commercial and residential complex, you will find this new hotel, which offers a perfect fusion of old and new. High levels of service, quality and design are apparent throughout the hotel which makes it an excellent choice for leisure and business travellers alike. Unlike many of Dubai's hotels this Superior 4 star hotel incorporates beautiful Arabic influences intoits design. Guest rooms are a good size with a contemporary design and all the amenities you would expect from a hotel of this standard. An excellent choice.

Advantages: The lifeline of Dubai. Disadvantages: Crossing the Creek at peak hours is a nightmare.
...Dubai Creek has been the focal point in the developmet of Dubai since the past100-150 years. Dubai was very famous for pearl trade and the Creek was instrumental in making Dubai a very famous port.
The Creek is about 14km long and divides Dubai into Bur Dubai and Deira. The best way to see the Creek is aboard a Dhow, which is the name given for the traditional boat. Smaller water taxis called Abra are also available to cross from one side to the other . The Shindaga Tunnel is the Tunnel which was built under the creek in the 60's to enable quick and easy access to the most thriving part of Dubai, the Gold Souk. Both the Gold Souk and the spice souk lie on the deira side of the creek.
The Al Makhtoum bridge crosses the Creek and traffic across it is horrendous.
Most Dhow cruises which attract a lot of visitors begin in one...

Advantages: first ski slopes in Dubai, one of a kind, lots to do, family fun Disadvantages: a sore bum from falling down so much!
.... Due to the location it very easy to get there and accessible, you can get any cab to take you there. Tourists staying at the Kempinski Hotel have access to the slopes just like the guests of Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach hotels' guests have access to Wild Wadi.
SKI SLOPES OF DUBAI
Upon entering the skiing area you do not feel as though you are in Dubai it is something that is both out of the norm and also fantastic beyond belief. Previously you were only able to sand board on Dubais sand dunes, now you can snowboard! There are 5 slopes ranging from very hard or expert skier to ameteur. don't worry if you cannot ski, like me, there are instructors to guide you through this adventure. The ticket price includes the use of equipment, snow boots, clothing etc so you do not have to arrive kitted out in skiwear in Dubais sweltering heat...

Advantages: Great weather, great people, excellent to see Disadvantages: Busy city areas are sometimes overwhelming
...I first visited Dubai in April 2003 visiting family and found myself returning again this April as I fell in love with the place. The flight from the UK is approximately 6.5 hours but this varies with different airlines and if you stop anywhere in between. Dubai is very lively with fantastic culture to explore, the museums and houses of the previous rulers in particular give a deep insight into the origins of Dubai and how technology has advanced the city areas into the worldwide business players they are today. There is just so much to see, many restaurants, shops and I personally would recommend the open top bus tours for the virgin visitor to dubai as they show you the main sights and you can pick and choose which you want to look at more closely. For cheap clothing (particularly designer copies) Karama is the best area to visit...

The Burj-Al-Arab (Arabian Tower) is Dubai and the UAE's answer to the landmark symbols of other countries, they compare it to the Eiffel tower (it's slightly taller by virtue of its mast) and other icons.
The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star more
A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the... more
