Al Mar Hotel has been decorated in the Andalusian style, combining wood and the marble with Sevillian tiles, obtaining a bright environment and blending in with the most meridional area of Andalusia where Algeciras is situated. This hotel is an ideal place for people who wish to explore Algeciras and its neighbouring towns and also for those who wish to take a boat to Morocco. During leisure, you can explore the city and its surrounding areas.
Advantages: In a nice resort, quietish area, basic but clean and comfortable. Disadvantages: The evening meals were poor
...Our family group of 7, myself, my husband, our son (aged 8), my parents, sister and niece (aged 10) booked between us three rooms for two weeks at the 3 star Hotel Clumba Mar in Ca'n Picafort, in the North East of Majorca for the last two weeks of June 06.
We chose this hotel because we liked the description of both the hotel and the resort in the Thompson's Sky Tours brochure as being quiet and family friendly as we were looking for a relaxing break and hoping to avoid being kept awake by local nightlife. We also got an excellent deal at the time of booking in January paying just under £1000 2 weeks half board for myself and my husband with our son getting a 'kids go free' place.

Arrival:
We arrived shortly after 9pm and checked in. As we requested our rooms were...

Advantages: Privacy and desert luxury - own private pool Disadvantages: Pricey even by the standard of other 7/6 star resorts
...The Al Maha desert resort is unique amongst Dubai's luxury hotel offerings. Combining nature reserve, luxury hotel and Arabian hospitality the resort is highly recommended by this reviewer!
The resort is set in the desert about 40 minutes drive (by hotel provided 4x4) from Dubai's International airport. It provides peace and quiet with first class luxury and service to match the best that Dubai has to offer.
The chief attractions of this hotel are
Peace and quiet
Your own private pool
Tasteful Luxury
Nature Reserve
Peace and quiet
An ideal place to relax after the hustle and bustle of city living.
The hotel has a meet and greet service at the airport which will welcome you to Dubai and arrange your transport to the hotel. As the hotel is set in its own 225 square kilometre private estate you must use the hotel...

Advantages: Able to get it last minute, nice surrounding area Disadvantages: Food, Staff, Price, Other guests, the room....... everything else
...It was pure chance that we stayed at the Paradis Park Hotel in Pineda De Mar. Whilst looking for a cheap and cheerful last minute deal to get some sun I spotted a package to the Calella Palace Hotel through Teletext holidays online.
After a bit of research the decision was made to book it, however, the dates we wanted weren't available. We were offered an allocation on arrival for the same price, or for an extra £45 each we could have an alternative named hotel of the same rating. Being unadventurous I opted for the latter and was given the choice of the Alexis Hotel (I had previously read reviews all of which were bad) and the Paradis Park Hotel.
I accepted the Paradis Park (as recommended by Sun4U Limtied, the tour operator) and after it had all been booked up we discovered that the Paradis Park was a 3 star, whereas the Calella...

The Burj-Al-Arab (Arabian Tower) is Dubai and the UAE's answer to the landmark symbols of other countries, they compare it to the Eiffel tower (it's slightly taller by virtue of its mast) and other icons.
The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star more
