Absolutely Delightful
Review of Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo, Venice by cookeec1

Advantages: cleanliness, location, friendliness, Service & Value for Money
Disadvantages: Situated in an expensive city

...croissants or toast. Walter and Sandro were very helpful in making recommendations for restaurants and even called to reserve a table for us at a popular restaurant. Many of the bars and restaurants in this area are wonderful because they are local places (i.e. no tourist menus) As well, there is a small bar off the reception area where you can get drinks or coffee in the afternoon and evenings. We sat in the courtyard and sipped on beer one afternoon after we took an unscheduled walk around almost all of Venice trying to find our way back to the hotel. The location is reasonably central - about 5-10 minute walk from the Rialto bridge. It's down a small side street but still very close to the Grand Canal. To be honest I thought it was better staying here than somewhere more central given how busy Venice is. I think we had the best of both... Read review

Perfect for a short Venice break.
Review of Hotel Al Piave, Venice by oasiskp

Advantages: great location, run by a friendly english speaking family
Disadvantages: none

...well, and overall the room was very clean. The continental breakfast was one of the most impressive things about the hotel, where most hotels will offer one plate of cheese and a few bread rolls, Al Piave produced a selection of italian meats (my favourite) and cheese, plus croissants, toast, cakes, fruit, and cereal. With fresh Italian coffee and orange juice. In conclusion the Hotel Al Piave is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Friendly staff, fantastic location, Perfect for a short Venice break.... Sun, canals and great food
Review of Venice (Italy) by flint

Advantages: Interesting, different
Disadvantages: expensive, gets a bit boring

...on a bus boat the will take you to designated stops or the expensive way get a private taxi that will take you right to your hotel. This cost about 140 euros for a round trip. A bit of advice, buy a Venice card for the vaporrettos and all the boats. It’s a bargain as the boats are the main way to get around unless you want to walk. We stayed at a palace place it was really nice. It was a 5 minute walk from Rialto, (which is one of the famous bridges that crosses the grand canal) and 5 minutes from St. Marks square, (which is the main square it faces onto the grand canal.) The quality of the accomidation was good not the best but good. The room had AC which in the middle of july is a good thing to have. The hotel (palace) we were at did breakfast and the rooms were huge like 5 metre high rooms and a bath attachment. The people in the hotel... Read review
