"The 34-acre Aladdin surrounds you with affordable opulence, its spacious accommodations complete with private soaking tubs, marble bathrooms, and a host of other amenities. With its live entertainment, Elemis Spa, non-stop gaming, and private rooftop pools, the Aladdin is sure to grant all your wishes"

Well it certainly lives up to its expectations if you read the 'official blurb' about the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

I was lucky enough to spend Christmas in Las Vegas this year, as many of you have probably heard on the grapevine or have heard about it from me and various other people and I stayed in The Aladdin hotel.

The hotel itself is pretty much central to the famous Las Vegas boulevard strip and is surrounded by a lot of other famous hotels. The Paris is just next-door with the Bellagio being across the road to name a few.

The wow factor and 'ohmygodlookatthatandthis' had already set in with me as me were coming into land at Las Vegas, so upon arrival at the hotel my jaw dropped further to the floor.

As you drive into the Aladdin which is only a ten minute cab journey from the main Airport, and I say drive because taxi's, limousines and cars all drive through what can be described as the entrance which is under the hotel and you are instantly met with lots of lights, big cars and the sheer excitement and buzz of being in Las Vegas.

The second you walk into the reception area it is an instant wow from thereon in, The Aladdin has a huge reception area to greet you the second you enter the hotel along with many receptionists ready to deal with your bookings in that happy American way.

(",)Room Description(",)

The Aladdin boasts a massive 2,600 guest rooms which when booking through expedia.com as we did are called - A Deluxe Room, Fountain View, Resort Room and Strip Suite.

We opted for a Fountain view room which would give us a full view of the famous Bellagio Fountains and I have to say in all honesty I am glad we decided to opt for this type of room because the view was fantastic of the fountains, waking up every morning to the whooshing sound of the fountains working was delightful, sadly the sound of the toilet flushing back home doesn't have the same effect on me!In the rooms themselves, which are really spacious, you have a King or Queen sized bed or beds depending on the size of your party (each room will sleep up to four people) a wardrobe that hides the iron and ironing board, a 21" television and a programmable safe to keep all your valuables safe. There are also two sets of drawers for your clothes.

There is also an armchair in the window should you find enough time to actually stop looking at everything and use it and there is also a computer desk with computer and internet access. Now the first thing I do whenever I stay in a hotel is check the bathroom because if it is small and dingy im not going to be happy about it.

Thankfully the bathroom in The Aladdin was enormous with a huge mirror, which spanned the whole length of the washing area, and then there was a separate shower and toilet area with a bath, which was very deep at the other end of the bathroom. There is also the ability to play around with the air conditioning, which is suitably adequate for the room, depending on whether you like a cool room, a warm room or a boiling hot room.

It should be noted that the hotel windows do not open within the hotel, there is an air vent, which you can slide, open and shut to compensate.

(",)Casino(",)

The Casino within the Aladdin is 100,000-sq.-ft. in size but even that description bares nothing to how big it actually looks on the eye, within the casino are approximately 2,800 slot machines making it the hotel with the one of the biggest slot machines in Las Vegas and then for those of you who like to gamble on something little more exciting there are the gambling tables which feature baccarat, craps, roulette, blackjack, keno, and more.

The slot machines themselves range from your average hand pulled machines, the ones that you see on television programmes and in films to machines, which offer you the chance to win cars and millions in cash.

The sheer number of different things you are able to win is out of this world and it is worth sticking money in all of the big machines so at least you can say you had a go!

My favourite slot machine was the 'I dream of Jeannie' machine which is based on the US television show about a Genie named Jeannie who lives in a bottle with her master (Larry Hagman) Captain Anthony Nelson an astronaught, after he found Jeannie's bottle on an Island not far from the Pacific Ocean and upon opening the bottle he saw Jeannie for the first time and she fell in love with her master and from thereon in the television programme took place.

Anyway the machine itself was utterly fabulous and I could be heard humming the theme tune and repeating Jeannie's catchphrase "Helllooooo Master" constantly.

Whilst being seated at any one of the slot machines or gambling tables it is worth noting that the serving girls will bring you any drink of your choice and it is FREE, all you need to do is give them a tip. A trick we found out after a few nights of being in las Vegas.

(",)Dining (",)

When it comes to food, nobody does it better than The Americans in portion size as far as I am concerned, this was my first visit to any State in the USA and I have to say the food portions never ceased to amaze me.

Within the Aladdin hotel itself there is something for everyone, restaurants including Fine Dining for those people who want something unusual and a little more than a cheeseburger and they include;

Bonsai Sushi Bar - which is pretty much self evident with the name and offers a huge array of Sushi.

Commander's Palace - is named as one of the best places to eat in Las Vegas and offers delight such as turtle soup and other Creole creations.

Elements - One of the top ten restaurants in Las Vegas, offers succulent meat and Fish dishes

Crustacean Las Vegas - Offer Eat-Asian (Vietnamese and French) delights which are imported from Beverley Hills and San Francisco

Todai - A Japanese Seafood buffet with over 40 types of Sushi.

Tremezzo - A northern Italian type restaurant.

Sadly I didn't have time to try any of these restaurants due to lack of time and the enormous queues some of them had to be seated. Prices for the above restaurants range from $20-$50 depending on the dish and the number of persons eating.

For those of you who want something more casual to eat, the Aladdin also offers the following:

Caffe Ferraro - An Italian themed Café with everything from pasta to pastries,

Cheeseburger at the Oasis - Well you cant go to America without having a burger and the one place I did venture into for a burger was cheeseburger at the Oasis and this place has an Hawaiian theme to it, the staff wearing grass skirts and the decorations being Hawaiian. The menu offers everything from burgers (with a huge variety of toppings) and chips, onion rings, Chicken burgers, vegetarian options and much more.

La Salsa - A Mexican themed restaurant which again I did visit the once and im glad to say it was only the once because I personally wasn't impressed with the quality of food. However, it does offer a typically Mexican menu with Taco's, Fajita's and the likes.

Lombardi's Romagna Mia - An Italian style restaurant which offers a wide variety of dishes,Oyster Bay Seafood & Wine Bar - offers a huge array of seafood from oysters and mussels to clams and lobster and the tradition fish and chips.

P.F. Chang's China Bistro - A Chinese bistro with an American style setting,Spice Market Buffet, - Offers a wide range of cuisines from all over the world including Asia, Italy, North America and Mexico

Zanzibar Cafe - This is the place we met for breakfast every morning and was totally delightful with over cheery staff in the morning to cater for your every need and is open 24 hours a day.

The Zanzibar Café offers a wide menu offering everything from American, Italian and Asian foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfasts themselves are HUGE to be blunt, but totally mouth watering but leaving you full for the rest of the day. Zanzibar also offers a 24-hour Starbucks for those caffeine needing gamblers!

Each of the above restaurants can be located within the Aladdin and have a price range of between $10-$20 depending on the order and number of people. They are not expensive places to eat at all.

(",) Nightlife (",)

Whether you like dancing the night away, gambling your life away or simply like being entertained, the Aladdin has something for everyone. In the Dessert Passage, which is the shopping area, there is a Theatre situated close to the restaurants which offering a variety of shows, including:

- The Fab Four: Ongoing,
- Steve Wyrick: Ongoing,
- X - An Erotic Adventure: Ongoing

We didn't go and see any of the shows because we had booked in to go and see 'We Will Rock You' at The Paris Hotel next door, but every night without fail there would be a queue of people waiting to go and see one of these shows.

Tickets can be purchased either online through the hotel website, Expedia.com or in the Hotel itself at the excursion desk.

For those people who like to dance the night away, there are three clubs on offer to suit everyone's taste starting with Curve which can be located in the London Club and is described as a 'Millionaires living room' with prices to match. It is estimated that drinks are served from $10 plus and the entrance fee is $20, Secondly there is the 'Living Room' which offers free entry and is open every night from 6pm-8pm and has been described as the pre-clubbing club and finally there is 'Sinbad's Lounge' which again we didn't visit but we could hear the live performances, which could have been described as cats being strangled or worse, it is situated not too far from the gambling area within the casino and is open everyday from 1pm until 3am.

(",) Pool (",)

Like all hotels, there are two private two private rooftop swimming pools located on the sixth-floor terrace but because they are seasonal they are not always open, so it is best to check upon arrival where or not you can go for a swim and if not the Hotel does offer a spa.

The Spa contains nearly 30 different therapy rooms, a fitness centre, a hair salon, a beauty therapist, Steam rooms, Saunas and whirlpools as well as a huge array of treatments are on offer with prices ranging from $25 up to $95 depending upon the treatment.

Sadly because I was getting married on Christmas day the reflexologist and the beauty therapist was rudely on their day off so I wasn't able to go and be de-stressed.

(",) Shopping (",)

For those of you who like a good shop the Aladdin offers 140 shops within the Dessert Passage.

The shopping mall itself is set like an Arabian Bizarre and at certain times of the day there is a tropical rainstorm within the shopping mall which has to be seen to be believed.

The shops themselves offer something for everyone, shops include - Fine Art, Home Décor, Footwear, women's & men's clothing (shops like GAP, French Connection), Children's clothing, children's toys, Jewellery and accessories, health and beauty - places such as Aveda, Clinique, The Body Shop, H2O and Sephora to name a few and Andy. Mack's favourite - shops that sell proper Las Vegas tat, he was on a mission to find the biggest tat he could find and he succeeded time and time again!

The shopping mall is open everyday from 10am until 11pm on a Sunday to Thursday and it is open till Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Within the mall there are also places to eat and drink which have already been mentioned above.

(",) Wedding Chapel (",)

As with most hotels in Las Vegas, the Aladdin has its own wedding chapel and the Aladdin Hotel itself is most famous for the wedding of Elvis and Pricilla Presley who were married in 1967.Sadly this wasn't the wedding chapel I got married in, but in all the brochures ive seen and from the website of the hotel it has a Mediterranean setting.

(",) Extra information (",)

This hotel for me was totally fantastic, I loved every minute of being in Las Vegas and being here and I wouldnt hesitate about going back (HINT) again as soon as i possibly could.
