...El Salvador was not the first place that sprung to mind when i was deciding on my holiday for this year. Indeed, were it not for the fact that my brother is marrying a girl from there, i doubt that i would ever have visited the area Thank God i did though! The place is superb. San Salvador, the capital, is set in the hills. The people of this city are very, very poor, but they are also very welcoming and friendly The heat was impossible. i dont know if it is normally that hot but i think thaqt i must have sweated out at least three tonnes of liquid that i was there Everywhere i went were warnings that tourists should be careful at all times. Apparently crime is a major problem with shootings, muggings and theft a common problem throughout the year... Read review

Advantages: Beautiful views, fantastic accommodtion and service
Disadvantages: Very quiet, not much entertainment, no night life

...What a bargain! I paid less than £250 for this holiday in the luxurious and new Pestana Aparthotel, although in a very quiet area its only 15 minutes from the main city of Funchal and 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel provides a shuttle bus service between the hotel and Funchal daily until early evening, the surrounding countryside was beautiful and I can recommend the local pizza restaurant for a casual meal one evening, although we did get some local produce and had a few meals sitting on our balcony of an evening which was magical. The accommodation was faultless, very high quality and the service was high, room was cleaned everyday but you will be lucky to see anyone doing it, they are very descreet, loved Madeira and would definitley revisit.... ...It may be a hidden treasure but when you find it, it is well worth it!!!! HOLYROOD apartHOTEL overlooks Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh and is very close to the new Scottish Parliment making it only a few minutes in a taxi from Princes Street. So the location is excellent, especially with so many pubs and entertainment only a few minutes away. You could easily drive past the HOLYROOD apartHOTEL but a call to reception soon pointed us in the right direction and straight into the hotel car park. The car park is £5.00 per night but it very secure. Check in was no problem, reception were very helpful and then guided us to our room on the 5th floor. The apartment was lovely - very spacious and very clean. It consisted of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The apartment was full of all the mod cons you...
