never used Alamo beforebut it came with part of our package from British Airways. Before our trip we had filled in a "Quick Pass" which basically meant us filling in our driver details before the holiday and thus saving time queing and relaying details.
Arrived at the Alamo desk at the airport and saw a long line of people - however theQuick Pass sign was out and no-one in the queue. stood there and once a new assistant came free waited for the nod to go forward - nope he ignored us - not one to be ignored stepped forward to be told that "we dont really bother with Quick Pass anymore - you'll have to stand in line. I didn't. told them that I had not wasted my time filling in a card and mailing it etc to be told to stand in line and wait. with a grunt and groan he served me and gave me "directions" of where to pick the car from. After lugging cases across the terminal and into the carpark we found Alamo -we had been told to pick anycar in the Intermediate range - well found the Intermediate range and there was one vehicle left - a beaten up Oldsmobile.
The car itself ran ok but the air conditioning was not ver good and the passenger seat had a constant squeak; reported these faults on returning the vehicle and was greeted with a shrug of the shoulders.
Next time I will be sticing with Avis who offer better cars - a courteous assistant who actually seemed to care and checked tat me being British understood the laws of the US roads.
sorry Alamo - definitely not using again Oh and prices are extortinate
