Awful service at the Heathrow, London airport facility. We arrived at 7.30pm at the rental station (nice shuttle bus driver) and there was a long queue of about 15 to 20 people. It was about 8.45 before we were at the desk although there were about 4 or 5 people manning it. The staff were all friendly enough but the system sucks. Everyone in front and at the back of us in the queue were rolling their eyes. To top it off, after we went out to take our pick of car, we had to queue to get out of the car park. At the gate was an employee whose job was to take a bit of paper from us and write the car registration number down. It was 9.30 before we were out of the compound!! When returning the car, there was no clear cut place for it and we just parked at a spot and had to grab an employee to give us our bit of paper that says all OK and fuel tank is full. There is also a dearth of petrol stations at Heathrow Terminal 5. You need to drive around and look outside the obvious area. Price was the main reason I signed up for Alamo but I won't be doing so on my next trip into Heathrow. Not unless they change their system.
