Advantages: Good quality food and a impressive network in Eastern Europe
Disadvantages: Expensive in business and lack of menu variety

...on Austrian, it was by now almost 1-00AM and I was probably not at my most observant. Return Journey Check in was smooth thanks to our being among the few business passengers the desk was not busy - unlike the queue for economy check in. This brought us time in one of the smallest lounges I have ever seen with a very limited range of drinks. In fact it was so claustrophobic in there (as it was a time of day several airlines were leaving) that I found it preferable to shop for some Albanian souvenirs. Boarding was again a bit chaotic. The flight to Vienna itself was very similar to the outbound flight except it was in a Fokker 100, Tyrolian operated, and following a repeat of the first outbound canapé the meal included a very tasty mozzarella and tomato terrine as its starter. Advantages: regular loss of luggage, huge delays
Disadvantages: extremely cheap, extensive network in the middle east and central asia

...Turkish Airlines leave you with mixed feelings wherever you look: most advanced Middle Eastern airline, but a service quality which looks more like Eastern improvisation than Western professionalism; an Economy Class designed for Anatolian cattle, yet a Business Class to make you feel like a Pasha. The verdict depends much on whether you view them as a Middle Eastern airline or as a European carrier, i.e. which standrads they have to live up to. Advantages: What advantages? Should be renamed the NoStar Alliance.
Disadvantages: Too many to list.

...As many of you know, I am a frequent flyer on several of the major airlines. My travels have taken me to many parts of the world on several different airlines, some good, some bad, some not worth mentioning. This is an extremely long review. So, you have been warned! Personal History = The last time I flew with Singapore Airlines (SIA) was more than 10 years ago. On that fateful flight, the plane was delayed many hours, due to 'unforeseen technical problems'. They boarded , and unboarded (alighted) us many many times and did not even have the courtesy to provide the passengers with refreshments. On top of the delays, there was the food poisoning incident when I flew with them from Hong Kong to Singapore. Did I mention they are also part of the Star Alliance?
