...Como is situated at the end of the Lake of Como, surrounded by high mountains. It is not far from Milan and it well linked to it by bus and train, with Ferrovie Nord, a privately owned company. You may want to go to Como to see the lake, the town iteself is worth a quick visit. In summer you can bath somewhere in the lake, if you have a car and can go along the shoreline. You can also go to the mountains or the near Switzerland, as many locals do, to buy cheaper petrol, chocolate and cigarettes. tHERE IS A NICE VILLA IN cOMO YOU CAN VISIT, BUT i DO NOT REMMEmber the name, but you should find it on any guide book.... Advantages: In the North of Italy
Disadvantages: Too big

...Milculo is a swear word! I was born near Milan and studied there at the University, although I was commuting back home. Milan is the most dynamic amongst the major cities in Italy, in terms of jobs market. From a tourist point of view, Milan makes a shopping destination for many Britons. I can say this since I have always found many Britons full of shopping on my flights back from Milan. Milan also makes a base for exploring the region of Lombardy. Mountains are never too far away, you may have to drive 3 hours if you want to ski, but if you fancy some fresh air and beautiful sceneries, you may go to the area of Varese or Como. Lakes are also one of the attractions of this area, and, finally, like anywhere else in Italy, good food can always be found!... Read review

Advantages: the Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places in Italy and Como is a very good place to buy silk products
