...If you are considering Puerto Pollensa as a family holiday destination do not hesitate. Having just come back from two glorious weeks I heartily recommend it. Puerto Pollensa is a quiet resort in the north of Majorca. It is situated in a beautiful bay and as a good beach and a wide variety of good restaurants. The accommodation that we stayed in was very good (Habitat apartments). It had 3 swimming pools, nightly entertainment and children’s activities during the day. Whether you enjoy beach/pool holidays or want to travel Puerto Pollensa is a great place. The bus service is very good. You can visit busy Alcudia or if you like something even quieter and idyllic Cala San Vicente. A 15-minute bus ride gets you to Cala San Vicente, which is possibly the most beautiful place on the Island. Even so Cala San Vicente is amazingly quiet. It has...

Advantages: Peaceful Disadvantages: Distance from airport
...- close to the airport - makes for a long day out to visit any of them. Worthy of the trip though is the water park just outside Palma. Another water park is the one at Alcudia, just 15mins from Puerto Pollensa, and one better suited to younger children. A tip though - arrive early as all the loungers with umbrellas for shade get snapped up very quickly....

Advantages: very family orientated, but theres plenty clubs and pubs if you like the nightlife! Disadvantages: none that i can think of theres something for everyone
...I've been to Alcudia about 5 times now, so its obvious I like the place! There's 3 areas of it which all run into each other and doesnt take long to get from one place to another.
Playa de Muro, filled with hotels, pubs, restaurants etc. Alcudia itself, which again has things to do during the day, plenty shops and the Port of Alcudia which is lovely as its the oldest, more traditional part of the town.
Alcudia is lovely, with plenty for kids and adults to do. There's the hydropark tehre, an outdoor water park with lots of slids. There's also plenty cafes, bars and resturants and some clubs as well. one of them is called Menta from what I remember was great!!
The locals are all friendly and english is spoken everywhere. The local language is Mallorquin, which is a dialect of Spanish. Alcudia is set in the north east of Spain...

I am not sure how I came upon this book in the first place, but I am very glad that I did! The Gardens of the Moon starts out as quite a confusing book, mainly because there are several main characters and very little information is given regarding... more
Well I'm afraid I'm going to have to say this film i pretty much flawless as far as I can tell! If you want info on plot the I suggest you read the reviews on the book (Under the children's section (strangely), authors name Ian McEwan).
