For those fine days, Aldwark Manor has a terrace patio overlooking the golf course outside the main bar and there are comfortable lounge areas for you to relax in.Aldwark Manor boasts some of the most picturesque golf scenery in the country. The challenging 18 hole golf course surrounding the hotel is almost 6,500 yards long and is bordered by ancient oak and beech trees, offering an idyllic location for a round of golf.To relax and revitalise, the hotel has the Reflections Spa and Leisure with luxurious facilities, including indoor heated pool, spa, steam room, upright solarium, gymnasium, drench showers, relaxation lounge and Spa offering a wide choice of pampering treatments. Stayed here at the weekend with a group of friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. This is is an attractive historic building, to which new additions have been made very sensitively. Check in was friendly and efficient and bedrooms were of a generally good standard,although we would have much preferred wardrode doors to a curtain! Breakfast was the usual buffet style, very varied hot and cold choices. Dining in the evening was a real pleasure, ... ...menu (supplements for some special dishes). Service throughout the hotel was of a very high standard, with clear evidence of constant management supervision of the young, enthusiastic staff. There is an excllent leisure club and spa. The attached 18 hole golf course is very good, and only 10 minutes drive will take you to the Park and Ride, which is by far the best way to visit York (free parking and £2 round trip each).
