LTI ALFAMAR
Review of LTI Alfamar Beach & Sport Resort, Albufeira by Freddy555

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Too quiet for some

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in July 2007. We had previously spent a week here in 1997 and remembered it as a comfortable, quiet and well-positioned hotel. Our memories were correct and in the intervening years the place had been improved with a new pool, better access to the beach, as well as a general freshening up (it is probably 30 years old). On our latest visit we booked half-board, land view room. The rooms are very acceptable. Most ...
...high inside atrium which give a great feeling of openness when seated in public areas. We actually got a very good deal through Travel Republic so we were already feeling good about the place. We are not sports minded and as this hotel is marketed as a sports resort I think anyone looking for modern. high-tech facilities would be disappointed. There are 3 key points I want to make - - the food is great. Both breakfast and dinner is served as a buffet ... Read review

Villa Gale Tavira in January
Review of Vila Gale Tavira, Tavira by bostonianbeer

Advantages: Everything you want for the after Christmas rush
Disadvantages: None

We have also stayed at this hotel, out of season. We were there in Jan 07 just as they were dismantling the Christmas tree in the entrance. We were sat outside at a little bar, talking to other visitors who where staying at the sister hotel to Villa Gale, that use to be a tuna canning factory............................this is on the sand splits, with a connecting shuttle bus between the two hotels. The tree came out through the main doors in two ...
...under ground car park, no doubt we will see it again in Jan 08 splendid with it's decorations. It took six men to carry each half and it was "egg and milk" to watch them. The hotel is just so friendly, welcoming, light airy, clean, the food is great and breakfast can take as long as you like. There are a lot of golfers in the hotel but they don’t seem to bother you as they are up and out in the morning before you even think of breakfast. The town ... Read review

Quinta Da Bellavista
Review of Quinta da Bellavista Apartments, Albufeira by silkyuk9

Advantages: Cheap, central to both areas
Disadvantages: Not much hot water and no air conditioning

The Quinta Da Bellavista apartments are situated right in the middle of Albufeira, with a good 15 minutes walk to either the old town or The Strip, which is regarded as the new town and where all the night life and action is. The reception, pool area and bar are on the opposite side of the road from the apartments. We checked in (23rd June 08) and had to give a deposit of 50 euros this was to cover any damages and would be refunded at the end of ...
...higher rating accomodation. Quinta Da bellavista is cheap and chearful, quite comfortable but lacks plenty of hot water and no air conditioning. Ive been to better butive stayed at places also that have been on par with this place. Our group are all adults so we only used the apartments as a place to rest and wash etc. 7 out of 10 for us. more hot water and air con would have increased it to 8. ... Read review

Alfagar Apartments
Review of Alfagar, Albufeira by carysb

Advantages: Clean, Cheap, Lots Of Facilities, Beach,
Disadvantages: 25 Minutes Walk To Town, Not A Lot To Do Outside Complex

...overnight on arrival of the Alfagar, something which seems to be standard nowadays at any resort. Accommodation Having previously printed off the site aerial view of the complex it appeared to be quite large, however this wasn't the case and we were pleasantly surprised by how compact the complex was, though not cramped. Our apartment was #301 level 3 or 3 and the 9th apartment in the block - the top floor was nice and peaceful though I don't ...
...place was generally quite quiet volume wise. Our apartment had a kitchen/diner area with table and chair and a modern microwave/oven built in under hobs, all your basic self catering cooking equipment and enough cutlery/crockery for 5 people. We had to purchase cleaning items such as washing up liquid and a sponge as bacon sarnies were top of our breakfast agenda on our 1st morning. The bedroom had 2 single beds pushed together to create a double, ... Read review

Holiday fun at this hotel
Review of Falesia Hotel, Albufeira by galaxynicole

Advantages: the food, staff, the pools
Disadvantages: might be a bit too quiet for some person

Falesia Hotel The hotel isn't actually in Albufeira but in Acoteias, which is about 15 minutes from the city of Albufeira, 20 minutes from Villamoura and 30-40 minutes from Faro Airport. We booked the holiday through Thomson. This is classed as a Thompson Gold holiday as the hotel is a 4 star. We paid £330 per person for 7 nights half board in the month of April. So was it worth it? Let's see. When we arrived at the hotel, we had to queue up for ...
...for a change from the Falesia Hotel food. Trips from the Hotel to various places Of course, there are trips from the hotel organised by Thomson themselves but my god are they expensive. Here's a little tip. Go to the Bar called Trotters (it has a Del Boy Van parked outside). Next door to there, there is a place that does autographs but they only do trips for a fraction of the price of the Thomson. We went to Loule Market on the Saturday for ... Read review
