Advantages: Excellent Location, Clean, Good Food
Disadvantages: No fridges in rooms

This is my third time staying in Albufeira (March 2007). I have previously stayed at the Paraisio and Brisa Sol which are also four star hotels next door to the Vale Gale Cerra Alagoa. Out of all three hotels this is my first choice, followed by the paraisio. The staff in the hotel speak good english and service was very efficient. I was also give an upgrade to my room. ...so I would recommend you try to get one with at least the number 42 at the end i.e. 142,242,342,44) The hotel operate on a key card system as opposed to having to carry keys around. Disadvantages: Can get noisy, not suitable for families

The hotel decor is very Portugese and looking a bit tired....tiled floors, rustic colours, its what I would call an average standard 3 star hotel, Cleanliness was fine, you're sheets get changed every day, and towels every other and rooms cleaned daily. I would also avoid booking half board, have your breakfast there (which is a combination of hot and cold) and go out to eat at night, there's not much going on in the hotel anyway ...
...I would probably recommend this hotel to young couples who enjoy the nightlife as its right on yoru doorstep, if you want a quiet holiday its not for you to be honest during high season, low season the bars area obviously a lot quieter so would not affect your sleep so much! The Quinta Da Bellavista apartments are situated right in the middle of Albufeira, with a good 15 minutes walk to either the old town or The Strip, which is regarded as the new town and where all the night life and action is. The reception, pool area and bar are on the opposite side of the road from the apartments. ...higher rating accomodation. Quinta Da bellavista is cheap and chearful, quite comfortable but lacks plenty of hot water and no air conditioning. Ive been to better butive stayed at places also that have been on par with this place.
