Advantages: enjoyable read, well written, depth to characters Disadvantages: none for me
I discovered Sue Grafton at my local library whilst I was browsing for something that took my fancy to read. I first saw 'P is for Peril' and B is for Burgular' and wondered if the series ran through the whole alphabet. After a little reading of the inside cover listing the other titles by this author I was chuffed to bits to see 'The Alphabet Series'... 26 books! And guess what I thought... 26 books = 26 reviews! On that basis I decided to read the blurb on the back of one of the books and decided that it sounded right up my street but wanted to read the series in order right from A through to Z. I found A is for Alibi and trotted off, booked it out with a HUGE smile on my face.....

Advantages: Its got Steve Coogan in! Disadvantages: Its not funny.
I've just finished watching this and I have to say that its not what I expected. I was expecting something filled with cheap humour and thats not what I got. What you get is a really good movie with an amazing cast (Rebecca Romijn, Sam Elliot, selma Blair, Jerry O'Connell, Matthew Marsden, James Brolin etc) who don't fail to deliver. The movie starts a little slow as you learn about the business of Coogan's character (he's in the business of providing spouses with alibis whilst they have affairs), but then they start to add little twists and turns that get you hooked. By the end you'll be drooling for more - fast paced, excellent story, plenty of plot twists and great acting. With most movies you are accutely aware of the time, but this one flows so nicely that by the time it ends, it doesn't seem long enough. Whilst it may try to ...

Advantages: A very good reader Disadvantages: You may not be able to put it down!
Sandra Brown is my favourite author so whilst I'm always a little biased when I read one of her novels, I am very rarely disappointed and I wasn't this time either. The novel is extremely well crafted and has several twists to the tale that you don't see coming. You think you have it sussed then something happens to pull the rug from underneath you. Brown's characters are always so believable and from start to finish you're rooting for them to come through. The Alibi centres around a District Attorney called Hammond Cross who is prosecuting a murder case. His case hinges around the prime suspect's alibi and Cross' growing attraction to her. Can he trust her or is she not all she seems? Crime fans and Brown fans won't be disappointed and whilst not as good my favourite Brown novel 'Hello ,Darkness' it does come very close. ...
