Alicante Airport

Advantages: Good location, decent amenities
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and ...
...usually much better. Alicante airport is located right off the AP-7/N-332 motorway which leads north towards Benidorm and south towards Torrevieja. It is clearly signposted and easy to access. Sometimes the barriers controlling access have been known to not work, although that has only happened once to the person picking me up from the airport. There is a car park situated right opposite the entrance to the airport which usually has a lot of space, ...

A must for anyone visiting the alicante region!

Advantages: Thrilling rides and loads to see and do
Disadvantages: none

You drive up to the car park and are immediatly greeted by a huge water fountain, you know your in for a treat here. Walking up to the front gate your greeted by statues and music making you feel right at home already. through the gates and immediatly your in egypt land and starring at towering columns, dancers and photographers, everone looks happy to see you! As you go round through the park you encounter a variety of different world and rides. ...
...possibly the biggest in europe) which throws you around on the side of the moantainside. intense ride that sendes your sences right off. another one of my favourites is the big drop. a tower which you are hoisted up and then let loose to freefall to the bottom, leaving your heart and stomach at the top. the park also offers a range of other ries from log flumes to river rapids to shooting mummies and monsters, and there is plenty for the kids with ...

Checking in today would help!!!

Advantages: clean, good facilities
Disadvantages: long check in queues

Alicante airport is located on the spanish Costa Blanca, in the valencia region of the country, and is owned by Aena and Iberia. It has recently undergone a major extension adding more gates tothe existing terminal and adding a terminal 2. The first thing you get to on arrival at alicante airport, after getting off the plane is an empty passport control box. That's right, there is a passport control box but never anyone there to check the passports ...
...easy. When flying from Alicante the story is somewhat different. The first thing you get to is a row of check in desks with very very very very very.......very very very long queues, which in the past I have known to take over two hours to get down, and even having queues outside in the airport's car park. Not the best sight and experience for going back home from holiday. After this you go up some esculators to a small concourse with a couple of ...

Costa Blanca landing strip

Advantages: Cool, Clean, Plenty of seats in departures, Ideal size.
Disadvantages: Cramped Car Park can be like a Maze!

...Spain, my first impression of Alicante airport is always "I didn't expect it to be this warm" as inevitably disembarking from the aircraft involves walking accross the tarmac to the arrivals hall and I start to peel off the layers that have protected me from the in-flight air-con on the way from the UK! The arrivals hall at Alicante is fairly simple with about 6 luggage belts, loos, plenty of trolleys and an bureau de change. Baggage arrival time ...
...through many different companies at Alicante and so far they have ALL had the vehicles on-site, so it's simply over the road into the car park to collect the car and away you go. The car park is a bit compact and when combined with driving an unfamiliar car in a new place, this first part of your onward journey can be a bit nerve wracking, however on the plus side, it will make the rest of your stay seem like plain sailing! When departing from Alicante ...

Alicante Airport...Gateway to the Costa Blanca?

Advantages: Central arrival and departure point for the Costa Blanca
Disadvantages: Road is the only access, no trains

First impression when you arrive here to catch a plane is the queues!! They seem to stretch right around the concourse and usually move exceedingly slowly. The area for over sized luggage is very poorly signposted, I am sure travellers with golf clubs, and the one poor couple I saw with a child stair gate, are throughly fed up when they finally locate it. On up the escalator , through the security checks and into the departure lounge. this could ...
...king and a Haagen Daas outlet, one newspaper and magazine shop. Duty Free shopping is available for all but beware.....cigarettes are more expensive by about 3 Euro a carton than they are in a normal Spanish tobacconist, so if you want to take cigarettes back buy them before going to the airport. alcohol is also more expensive. The departure area is clean and has several washroom and lavatory areas. No provision in the way of play areas made for ...
