Alicante
Review of Alicante (Spain) by chris4468

Advantages: Beautiful,Clean city
Disadvantages: Expensive,hilly,hardly any English spoken

...having a day trip to Alicante a couple of years ago (Well actually 2 hours on a Thomson excursion) while staying in Benidorm,my wife & myself decided to use my last 4 days holiday entitlement to have a short break in Spain & found a really good value holiday in Alicante courtesy of Easyjet. The idea was that 4 days would give us plenty of time to have a good look around the city & as we are into that sort of thing, the castle. The flight went OK ...
...Benidorm. On the return to Alicante we added up how much we had spent & were shocked that all we had spent all day including the tram fare & shopping was 39 Euros - 2 Euros less than just a meal & drink in Alicante. In summary Alicante is a great place for a holiday if you can speak Spanish or like pasta & pizza for every meal, unless of course you can afford steaks every night. Hardly anyone there speaks English so if like us you don't speak Spanish ... Read review

...enchants my city to me. Alicante is a city with beach. Always it is sun and very warm. It is a glad city. Its inhabitants we are glad people. Alicante has many celebrations throughout the year. ...consists of being walking from Alicante to Santa Faz, a small very pretty town. In April it is Easter. A celebration in which there is no school during 12 days. The summer in Alicante is wonderful. Many tourists come, many are English, like you, who you are wonderful. LEAVE THE RAIN 4 SUNSHINE IN SPAIN
Review of Alicante (Spain) by Versatile

Advantages: Climate ... Pretty cheap ...Breathtaking places
Disadvantages: Can get very hot in peak season & high traffic congestion

Alicante (Spain) is like my second home , although I have recently bought an apartment in Guardamar Del Segura (Alicante), thirty minutes drive from Alicante city . I have been visiting this part of Southern Spain for more than twenty years. During my twenty year visit , I have seen Alicante & its surrounding towns turn from shabby non-existent places into bustling and vibrant resorts. Anybody visiting Alicante & its surrounding resorts today , would ...
...growth & expansion in the Alicante province is truly amazing - it no longer plays second fiddle to cities such as Barcelona & Madrid. This beautiful city & its neighbouring resorts all of which lie on the Costa Blanca coastline are growing not only in size but in popularity. So much so , that permission has been granted to build new villas , bungalows , & apartments along the whole of the Costa Blanca coastline. This alone is an indication of how ... Read review

Review of Alicante (Spain) by bestmum

Advantages: The climate; extremely cheap even with the change from the peseta to the euro; and the fact that it's a residential area so no high-rises!
Disadvantages: Extremely busy in the summer months now that it's becoming a more popular destination to live and to visit, graffiti

...from the beautiful city of Alicante on the Costa Blanca in Spain, but still in the Alicante province is a haven steadily growing in popularity, this is a town called Torrevieja (pronounced Torrevieka). I have been visiting the area for nearly 11 years now, my last visit was in September of this year with my husband, my 21mth old daughter and my two little sisters. My husband introduced me to the resort as my father in law owned an apartment in an ...
...from a UK airport, to Alicante Airport. The airport was recently refurbished and now has beautiful marble floors and walls and it boasts a number of good shops, bars and restaurants prior to your return journey, including Burger King, which on our last return home from there, we ended up eating at 7:15am!! But hey, what’s a holiday if you can’t do that!! From the Airport is it very easy to get to Torrevieja, having to travel along one main road only. ... Read review
