All Bar One on Kings Street proports to offer excellent food at a reasonable price, unfortunately it doesn't quite make it.
The surroundings are very bare and basic, with the menu written on the wall at various points around the place. The staff wear outfits that make you think of old fashioned barbers rather than anything else, but on the whole are friendly and helpful.
The food however tries too hard to be sophisticated, ... ...a selection of meals, including hot and cold sandwiches (cold ones are better left alone!), the hot sandwiches are possibly a redeeming feature although the amount of green salad served with them (at two different varieties of lettuce, ooo!) dwarfs your sandwich.
An okay kind of bar for a quick bite to eat, but wouldn't really want to linger.

A pompous title for a non-pompous establishment.
AllBarOne situated in Edinburgh City Centre, on the corner of George Street and Hanover Street. Why write about it? A good question that I will answer.
Here begins a small tale of a tall man and his colleagues of equal or greater proportion who work in the centre of Edinburgh: less be said as not to confuse, I am, we, are surrounded by Public Houses, Restaurants, Bars and Clubs. As far as food and “Lunch” in particular all tastes are catered for.
My experience - some very good places where the food, service, price are excellent and some others which to be kind - are not so good!
So All – Bar – One what has this got to offer?
Lunchtime, usually a rush, get in, get seated, order, throw down a pint maybe two and wait, wait and wait for your order to ...

Advantages: Location central to the city Disadvantages: Service with a non scottish flavour
I didn't choose to go to AllBarOne in George Street it kind of chose me. Well I am up in Edinburgh on business and when you ask a prospective client where do fancy for a beer after a work you can't really say no. So He said I'll meet you at 5.30 at AllbarOne on George Street. This was perfect because in Edinburgh George Street ius one of the easiest streets to find. You get to Princess Street walk up the hill at right angles and after Rose Street you end up on George Street. Walk along a bit and AllBarOne is there on the junction with Hanover Street. So it is close enough to the main attractions in the city centre. It is a former bank, you can tell that as soon as you walk in. High ornate ceilings make a good atmosphere and they have created a few nooks and cranny's for intimate diners so it is not just one big room ...

AllBarone is an excellent bar with a great attitude and is always crouded. They are a chain with numerous bars around the capital. The one in Leicester Square is probably the best known because of location. The door policy can become strict towards the end of the evening, groups of guys not being popular and if you are too drunk you wont get in. The clintelle are all good and tend to be friendly. Music plays in the background and is just the right volume. The whole look of the bar is wooden, long wooden benches tend to be one of the main seating choices available. They serve food as well and in the daytime coffee and tea with daily newspapers. Some locations provide bar games. The best drink is the Cheque (?) beer known as Staropramen, its 5.5% and is delicous, dear too! ...
