Overall good with some areas for improvement necessary. We visited in 2003. Recent guest comments (2007) reflect the same experience, so they have not moved on.
The beach location is excellent, especially as it is right next door to Sandy Lane Bay, which you can walk across or swim off, disturbing the celebrities on "their" beach. It's on the west coast of Barbados which is well sheltered from the Atlantic winds.
The service in the restaurant was very American, rather than relaxed caribbean, and attentive most of the time; but when they were busy we sometimes felt entirely forgotten. Food was pretty good with a reasonably wide choice. The price includes afternoon rum punch from the beach bar, but don't have too many in the heat of the day.
Our pool courtyard suite was a bit shabby and needed modernising, particularly the bathroom/shower, still a problem in 2007. c.£850pppw inc flights.
