...The Jarvis Hotel is a couple of miles north of Bristol in an area called Winterbourne. As a former country house built in the mid 19th century and with extensive grounds it has every going for it as a hotel. The Jarvis group have spent a lot of money refurbishing the place including an excellent Poolside leisure Club with swimming pool, spa, solarium and under-utilised exercise equipment. As is often the case the pool is a little small and you soon learn how a goldfish must feel swimming around the same extent of water only about 6 times your body length.
The rooms in the old part of the hotel are quite spacious but you may find those in the newer part little better than a motorway lodge for size. They are clean and tidy and have the obligatory tea-making facilities. All rooms are en-suite. The bar is cramped but nearby is a huge...

...Jongleurs Comedy Club address is 28 Baldwin Street, BS1 1NG.
Jongleurs is a brand new purpose built development for comedy. It lies in the heart of Bristol and is very close to the famous Bristol Hippodrome in the centre of town.
Jongleurs is based upstairs but beneath it is the oh so sophisticated yet relaxed venue The Stone House. The emphasis here is on good quality food and drink.
The license held at Jongleurs is until 2am and has a maximum capacity of 250 people for shows and 480 for the disco. When combined with The Stone House up to 800 people can be accommodated.
The sound and lighting system is state of the art and suitable for events, including DJs and bands. The stage is fully mobile and there is full disabled access to the venue. This venue is available for hire Sunday through to Wednesday.

Advantages: Well located and pretty cost effective Disadvantages: Busy in the Summer
...shower, direct dial telephone / modem point, hairdryer, tea /coffee facilities and a colour TV with satellite & pay movies.
Accommodation is in twin rooms with two single beds which sleep a maximum of two adults. Double Rooms with a double bed and sofa bed can sleep a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.
The hotel has a large free car park, wireless internet access, two meeting rooms and a bar with lounge. All rates include a complimentary continental breakfast. For guests in a hurry a vending fridge is available in the foyer. A range of sandwiches, snacks, chocolate and drinks can be found.
There is no restaurant in the hotel but a Vintage Inn Public House is next door.
