Saw there were three reviews on Alpharooms, of which two seemed quite negative, so to redress the Balance, here we go.
We had booked to go to Madeira to the Hotel Windor in Funchal, but Roz my sister-in-law saw a Vila Gale Hotel at Santa Cruz, as we have liked the Vila Gale chain, we decided to change.
We had booked Hotel Windor through BOOKINGS.COM, and their cancellation was easy, no money had been paid up front and so their was no charge as we were cancelling more than 3 days in advance.
ALPHAROOMS had come out the Cheapest when we used HOTELSCOMPARISON.COM to check prices.
It was going to be £111 for three nights for Double Room with Buffet Breakfast & Sea View (Seaview worked out at only an extra £2 on the booking, not per night per person as saga Etc Charge).
The booking process was easy, they did have a Cancellation Waver Charge of £6, which we removed, taking the risk ourselves, without the waver you would be charged 20% of booking in the event of cancelling.
You pay by Credit Card or Debit Card, Credit card they do not charge an extra, not the case with most sites.
You quickly get Email Confirmation, and then Email Vouchers to present to the Hotel, we seemed to get several of these, perhaps because we had booked two rooms. Suggest you print and take all with you.
Checkin was no problem, presented Voucher and straight to rooms.
No hidden extras at Check out.
Will certainly use again. Booked in September for Grand in Brno to visit Alphonso Mucca's Slave Epic Series of paintings.
