Advantages: Many young and nice people Disadvantages: no one
...Hello again !
I know what I´m writing about, cause I´m a real "Hamburger" Girl.
This city is a city one must have seen !
The town hall called "Rathhaus", the Michel (the biggest church in Hamburg), the legendary "Reeperbahn" are all stations of a sightseeing tour.
I think all of you know the Reeperbahn. Maybe you know it as THE street of sex in Hamburg. But thats not right. Here are also many clubs and they are great. Here is music for everyone.
Whatever you what to hear in Hamburg is the right club, like 2-step(which is very successful at the moment), techno, hiphop or just pop.
But Hamburg has another site !
In Hamburg yoú will find the Alster. I´m not sure if it´s a river or not.
We also have great shopping miles. For example in the central of the city. The Mönkebergstraße and the Gänsemarkt are the most visited shopping miles...

Advantages: Great lively city; great sights!! Disadvantages: None really!
...youth hostels and budget hotels to luxury chains. I would definitely try and stay as close to the centre of Hamburg as you can do where you will find great value hotels from chains such as SAS, Marriott and Renaissance.
I normally stay at the Marriott or Renaissance hotels and you can pick up an internet deal for around £60 for a double room which is great value and both hotels are located right in the heart of city, less than five minutes walk from Jungfernstieg and the Alster.

What to do:
Here are a few of my favourite things to do in Hamburg:
Take a walk around the inner Alster Lake. If it is sunny enjoy an ice cream, from a vendor and if not try to get a window table at the Alstertor Cafe. After that go on an hour long cruise along the Alster and soak up the atmosphere and see where all the rich Hamburgers live...

Advantages: Clean, good shopping, good museums Disadvantages:
...Hamburg as a city is often sadly overlooked by people, who pass throguh it en route to somewhere else. The city is vibrant, clean, and with a great deal happening in it. There are countless bars for the young, and the shopping is amongst teh best in Germany. Away from the centre, it is possible to be out in the countryside in under 40 minutes, with the Lüneburger Heide to the south and the delights of Schleswig-Holstein to the North. Mönckebergstrasse offers a great variety of shops, as does the area around the Alster. Public transport is very good, with the U, S and A Bahn services being very reliable, and reasonably priced, and amazingly there is even 1st and 2nd class! For a great view head up the Fernsehturm (TV Tower), and for great food there are some great restaurants at varying price tags. For onwards travel the trains...
