...I went to Curitiba to meet a friend of mine I had lived with in London. The South of Brazil, including Curitiba, is where most of the European settlers went at the beginning of the century. There are plenty of blonde people around. The City is quite large, but very well organized, clean with a nice atmosphere. The City itself can be visited for its parks and some museums. I spent most of the time with my friend, we visited a local Churrascaria, where you can eat as much meat as you like. The South of Brazil has a strong reputation for good meat, and I can only confirm this. From Curitiba we went by train to Paranagua. This trainline had been created at the end of 19th century and goes from the highs of Curitiba, down to the sea. Very much recommended for the scenery!...

...Grand Plaza Parkroyal Hotel is located in the good area of Yangon, Burma/Myanmar. It is situated near the downtown area and the standard of the hotel is acceptable even though it is not a 5 stars hotel. Just beside of the hotel, there is a shopping plaza for clothing and food. One of the biggest cinemas in myanmar is located beside the hotel. Bogyoke market, which is one of the toursit attractions for selling jewels, clothes and traditional presents, is very near (3 minutes walk) from the hotel location.
Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The uniforms represent all races who live in Myanmar/Burma. Most of the local people hire conference rooms for business purposes in this hotel among so many hotels in Yangon....

...The Grant PlazaHotel in San Francisco is located at the gateway to the Chinatown area of the city, and is predominantly Chinese-run.
It is a quiet, unassuming hotel, which is clean, basic and most importantly a cheap place to rest in a busy, expensive city! The rooms are accessed by elevator and a security door prevents any unwanted entry 24 hours. Many of the rooms face onto the street which can be very busy and therefore quite noisy.
The rooms themselves are slightly grubby, but otherwise a good base for exploring the city. Most rooms are en-suite with colour TV with cable. The service and staff is faultless, as you will find across the area.
The Plazahotel offers only bed (no breakfast), although there are many cafes locally which offer cheap food (and plenty of it!).
(while there, do explore the Chinatown area - it...
