Advantages: Sandals in genuinely "All Inclusive", and oozes quality Disadvantages: Jamaica seems festooned with hustlers
...I went to Sandals MontegoBay for 2 weeks in August 1997 for my honeymoon. It seemed pricey at first glance (it was about 3400 ukp for us both) but this turned out to be pretty good value for money.
The food was excellent, there were at least 5 restaurants to choose from including a Chinese, an Italian and an A La Carte, all at least four courses. You could also pop along to Sandals Royal Jamaican or Sandals Inn for a change. Sandals Royal Jamaican has an excellent Indonesian restaurant you have to get to in a "traditional" Balinese boat, but it's well worth the effort. All of the staff did their best to give you a good holiday and the activities were enjoyable, though you weren't forced to join in.

...Whilst staying at Sandals MontegoBay ,three years ago, I did 12 dives with the Sandals Diveteam. They offered two dives a day as part of the all-inclusive package.The kit was all Cressi-Sub and well maintained. The morning dives were to a max of 30m, and most of the other divers (90% Americans) were PADI OW only. This mean't the Divemasters led everyone like children and the dives rarely exceeded 30 mins. The afternoons were worse as the "try divers" joined in, which mean't the diving was like a pool session. The outer reef was quite good diving, with a reasonable amount of life, but the inner was devoid of fish. The coral was pretty impressive though. This isn't the most impressive diving I've done and I wouldn't go to MontegoBay specifically to dive, although Sandals itself is excellent. If I was going there anyway I'd definitely...

We stayed at this Hotel in June and had originally booked two studio apartments but on arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom villa this may have affected my opinion of this hotel.
