This one-of-a-kind tea shop in the city serves up more than 70 varieties of imported teas from around the world. Located in an historic building dating from the 15th century, this great place offers a great afternoon rest stop. A good light-dining menu is also available. Business casual attire.
Advantages: clean, plenty to see & do, lots of history Disadvantages: none
...I visited Innsbruck on three consecutive years, on holidays that were based in Lermoos in the Austrian Tirol. Innsbruck is a lovely city & well worth a visit. When we went there, it was very clean, the cafes were nice, the people were friendly & there were plenty of things to see & do. The city was the venue for two Olympic Games & they have a museum to commemorate those events, which is worth seeing. There are some great shops too, nice walks & parks & you can go round the city on a horse-drawn carriage trip. Innsbruck is a lovely place & part of a beautiful country. Highly recommended....

Advantages: Wonderful, gorgeous scenery Disadvantages: Nightlife is pretty quiet
...I'd never even heard of Innsbruck when I embarked on my European tour in 2002. My good friend I was travelling with was wanting to visit on account of her parents' recommendations, so I agreed and was pleasantly surprised.
Innsbruck is simply one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Surrounded by the Alps on one side and the Tuxer mountain range on the other, it is quite impossible to avoid turning a corner in this small city without confronting yet another breathtaking view of snow-capped peaks.
The city has a very relaxed feel, befitting a locale with only just over 100,000 inhabitants. This is never more in evidence than at the Hauptbahnhof (train station) which looks more like an outer suburb stop than a main disembarkation point.
We booked into our hostel, which was located about 15 minutes from the main attractions by bus...

Advantages: Age, very interesting Disadvantages: Not that much to see!
...for the crowds all looking up rather than looking where they are going! It is on the same square as the city tower, so this is a good landmark to look out for. It is right in the heart of the city, on a pedestrianised street. Everything to see in Innsbruck was pretty much within walking distance, but I did use the public transport to take me back to our campsite and it was very efficient and clean. It is located at: Herzog-Friedrich-Straße 15
In the summer the roof is open every day from 10-6 and in the winter it is closed Monday and open the rest of the week from 10-5. It costs 3.60 Euro for an adult and 1.80 Euro for concessions. It is also included on the Innsbruck card (28 Euro for 48 hours) which is well worth investing in and a bit of a bargain if you plan to see a couple of things.
THE VISIT:
You may now be wondering...'why do I have...
