Advantages: Quirky, on site, clean and hassle free Disadvantages: Costly to stay and eat
Splash LandingsHotel at Alton Towers, it really is just a themed travel lodge, but a brilliant one at that.........!!
When you arrive at this quirky hotel you are faced with the look of a bruised and battered caribbean style shack.
Once inside the hotel the music catches your ears, and for the rest of your stay you`ll be humming merrily away without a care in the world.
Check In : Simple, Fast and with no fuss, everything was explained to us about the hotel, the water park and the park itself.
The Lift : As you enter the lift Captain Pugwash is belting in your ear drums, my wee boy was dancing all the way down..........
The Room : Still a travel lodge at heart but the funky designs helped keep the edge on the hotel. T.V Double bed, (very bouncy) Bunk beds and space for the cot, which was already in the room when we arrived ...
Advantages: Good fun hotel, good service and decent rooms Disadvantages: Poor food
I've stayed at the Splash LandingsHotel in the Alton Towers park a couple of times now, and each time have had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is not without some flaws but overall my experiences have been good.
Firstly I will say I get the rooms in the hotel cheap through my staff discount, and pay £80 a night for 2 people to go bed and breakfast. This is good value to me as the convenience of being near the park and the early ride time makes it well worth the money. However, I'm not sure I would ever pay the full rather extotionate rate they charge without the discount, which is over £200 per room per night.
So, the hotel itself. First impressions were good - the reception area is massive and the Caribbean theme is fun. The check-in service is efficient and although there is often a queue I didn't wait long. The staff are well ...
My boyfriend & I visited Splash LandingsHotel last September, when we were 17. We stayed for two nights B&B. We arrived at 2:30 (check in is at 3:00). The porter kindly took our bags, and let us explore the hotel. At 3:00 a member of staff approached us, told us our room was ready, and showed us to it. Upon a first glance the room did look a little tacky, but once the bed spreads were taken off, they looked great. We then left for the water park & returned a few hours later. After having a bath we noticed that the water took ages to go down the plug, But the free shower gel & shampoo (Imperial Lather) made up for this.
We then went to Flambo's Exotic Feast for dinner (roughly £20 all you can eat). And it was delicious. There was a choice between traditional food such as fish & chips, but there was also a large selection of Indian ...
