Advantages: Clean, Comfortable, Location Disadvantages: My Ears!
?s throw from the Stazione Centrale. Widely slated as one of the main - and most architecturally stunning - train stations in Europe, it can whisk you to the great Lakes of Garda and Como in well under two hours, or Venice in a little over three. In relation to sightseeing in Milan itself the Amadeus is a pleasant twenty minute stroll to the centre of Milan, and the Duomo (cathedral). If the stroll doesn?t appeal there is a tram stop outside the hotel, while the nearest Metropolitana station is at the end of the road, less than five minutes walk away. While in Milan we used a mixture of Metro and legwork to get around; the Metro is clean, prompt and cheap, with tickets purchased from any of the many newsagents and coffee shops on street corners allowing you to travel all day for just a few Euros. Advantages: Great hotel, great location? Disadvantages: Perhaps too big!
Last year in the Sunday supplements I read about the new Hilton Hotel that had just opened in Venice and they had comments on the wonderful views and the roof terrace.
As we had booked to visit Venice in March of this year, and had been several times before this was an opportunity to see another view of Venice from a different area.
I had read that it is a large hotel and thinking about Venice and the size it must be out of the main Venice tourist area, we had not seen any building work on that scale the year before.
The Hilton hotel is in the Giudecca area of Venice away from St. Mark's Square. We had to catch a water bus from San Zaccaria, over to Zitelle and then just wondered along until we arrived at the Hilton which is the other end of Giudecca Island.
They do say that Elton John has a house in this part of Venice ...
A well situated hotel in lido Venice, 5 minutes from the Boat station and 15 minutes to St.Mark´s Venice.
Very close to the Beach and the Palazzo del Cinema, where the Film festival take place.
The staff is very welcoming and pleasant, breakfast quite good, specially in summer in the private Garden.
In summer days was quite amazing just take a bike given from the hotel and ride all the island long take a long drink on the way and coming back long the Venice lagoon in the light of the sunset, just heaven!
In the evening there are many restaurants close to the hotel, all reacheble by feet, where we found good fish food in venetial style.
Rate quite average, I´ve booked through [http://www.lidodivenezia.it Lido VeniceHotel] ...
Amadeus hotel offers elegance throughout and its location makes it a very popular choice. Take a gondola ride along the Grande Canal or relax in the private gardens of the Hotel Amadeus. The location of this hotel just minutes from the canal and its surrounding area is ideal for taking in the Jewish Ghetto, Venice Casino, then Rialto Bridge and St. Mark\\\'s Square.
