Sorrento - amazing town, amazing hotel! Advantages: Great sights, proffesional, good service, clean Disadvantages: Quite expensive ...you like to walk! This Hilton hotel was one of the last places we picked to have a look at (probably because Paris Hilton came into our minds!), but we booked it in the end because of the quality of the hotel based on reviews. The prices are a bit high, it all depends on the budget your planning to spend. On www.lastminute.com, the room prices are £146 - £310. The restaurant we went to every breakfast and dinner was brilliant. A buffet for breakfast with fresh egg, sausages, croissants, other pastries, and other refreshing food to wake you up for the day. At dinner in the evening, it's a whole different story. It's a menu based service where you chose from a few dishes for an astonishing 4 courses. Hotel Mediterraneo, Sorreno Advantages: Beautiful views, beautiful Hotel. Disadvantages: 15 mins distance from center of Sorrento This Hotel is great! I stayed here a couple of years ago. The Hotel is in Sant'Agnello which is about 15 mins walk from Sorrento (Piazza Tasso) and there is a local bus service if you don't feel like walking. The Hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and very organised. The pool is also very nice and the dining room is fabulous with a view of the Bay of Naples. Very near to the Hotel there is a small beach, some local shops and a couple ... ...Sorrento for bars in the evening although there are a couple of small bars in Sant'Agnello on the main street which is called Corso Italia (about 5 mins walk from the Hotel) On the main street there is a more frequent bus service into Sorrento (buses every 20 mins). Perfect for enjoying Sorrento Advantages: Clifftop setting, central Sorrento, fantastic service, value for money Disadvantages: Lift down to beach broken, We stayed at the Imperial Hotel Tramontano in June ('07) and had one of the most enjoyable holiday experiences to date. It is difficult not to be impressed on arrival by the grand lobby area and public rooms. Apart from the obvious cliff-top location with corresponding views and sunsets, the one thing that made our stay here so enjoyable was the bend-over-backwards service and hospitality that we received from both reception and restaurant waiting ... ...the restaurant for three evenings for EUR20 a head for a three course meal. The service and food were second to none. The room was fine and facilities etc everything you would expect from a 4/5 star hotel. The traditional building, the views and the staff gives this place buckets of charm, which set it apart from other places we have stayed. Nothing special! Advantages: Central, clean, spacious Disadvantages: overpriced, unfriendly staff ...recently spent a week in Conca Park and I have to say that whilst we enjoyed our stay, this hotel is nothing special. It is clean and spacious located right in the heart of Sorrento and has a lovely patio for sipping cocktails (shame nobody uses it!). We booked based on online reviews - all praising the 'wonderful staff ' . Our experience was a bit different and we found them quite unfriendly really! Both the waiters and the reception staff. The ... ...the bathroom wasn't so great - really basic with a tiny shower. Not what we expected for the price! One thing we couldn't fault was the beautiful view of the bay of Naples from our balcony! It really is worth paying a bit extra for a sea view room. Another good point was the good-sized pool which is spotlessy clean. The only down side is the fact that theres not a lot of sun in the pool area as it is blocked by the mountain from about 1pm-3pm.
