Hotel Mediterraneo, Sorreno Advantages: Beautiful views, beautiful Hotel. Disadvantages: 15 mins distance from center of Sorrento This Hotel is great! I stayed here a couple of years ago. The Hotel is in Sant'Agnello which is about 15 mins walk from Sorrento (Piazza Tasso) and there is a local bus service if you don't feel like walking. The Hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and very organised. The pool is also very nice and the dining room is fabulous with a view of the Bay of Naples. Very near to the Hotel there is a small beach, some local shops and a couple ... ...Sorrento for bars in the evening although there are a couple of small bars in Sant'Agnello on the main street which is called Corso Italia (about 5 mins walk from the Hotel) On the main street there is a more frequent bus service into Sorrento (buses every 20 mins). Nothing special! Advantages: Central, clean, spacious Disadvantages: overpriced, unfriendly staff ...recently spent a week in Conca Park and I have to say that whilst we enjoyed our stay, this hotel is nothing special. It is clean and spacious located right in the heart of Sorrento and has a lovely patio for sipping cocktails (shame nobody uses it!). We booked based on online reviews - all praising the 'wonderful staff ' . Our experience was a bit different and we found them quite unfriendly really! Both the waiters and the reception staff. The ... ...the bathroom wasn't so great - really basic with a tiny shower. Not what we expected for the price! One thing we couldn't fault was the beautiful view of the bay of Naples from our balcony! It really is worth paying a bit extra for a sea view room. Another good point was the good-sized pool which is spotlessy clean. The only down side is the fact that theres not a lot of sun in the pool area as it is blocked by the mountain from about 1pm-3pm. Fantastic, Charming, Friendly Hotel Advantages: Amazing views Disadvantages: Not in town center - although this isn't necessarily a disadvantage! ...now stayed at Johanna Park Hotel twice. Once in June 2005 and again in June 2008. This hotel is simply excellent. Johanna and her fantastic staff make you feel right at home and couldn't be more helpful. It's like no other hotel experience I've had - it's as if you're staying with relatives rather than hoteliers. We drove to get to this hotel as we'd rented a car in Rome. Also we had a map to provide directions. The drive through to Sorrento is ... ...really appreciated this. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated. Beds are a nice size and comfortable! Great showers and the cleaning staff always do a perfect job. The rooms on the front of the hotel overlook the Bay of Naples, obviously Vesuvius being the most prominant feature. Great views shame about the hotel Advantages: Great views across bay in front facing rooms Disadvantages: Rooms are next to a busy road 24 hours a day I organised a trip from work for a a party of 42 adults. We stayed for 3 nights The hotel turned out to be up a fairly steep hill about 10 mins walk from the town and 25 mins from the railway station. There is however a bus stop on bus route 'A' outside the hotel.. The rooms at the hotel do vary. The basement rooms have no views and bars on the windows. The front facing rooms (which i stayed in) have a fantastic view across the bay of Naples towards ... ...is noisy 24 hours a day, and yes it did disturb our sleep. The rear rooms face a brickwall but are the quietest and coolest. No rooms have air conditioning some have a fan. Some rooms have showers others a bath.My room had a bath with a hand held shower but the bath plug did'nt fit the bath!!! Towels were supplied but were more like table clothes.
