Advantages: Brilliantly written Disadvantages: Sadly Richard Laymon is dead, so new book releases will dry up if you become a fan
Some book reviews tend to spoil the ending or purpose of the book. So rather than tell you everything that happens in Amara by Richard Laymon I will write the description that is on the book cover and then give my views on the story.
The cover description is:-
Amara, Princess of Egypt, the once beautiful wife of Mentuhotep the first, lies in her coffin in the Charles Ward Museum. She has been dead for 4000 years and she?s just an inanimate bundle of withered skin and desiccated bone. Or is she?
Barney the night watchman is the first to discover that the mummy?s coffin has been broken open. Then it?s the turn of two security guards to find that the Egyptian remains have been disturbed. It seems grave-robbers are at work; out to steal valuable artefacts, just as their kind have done for centuries. It?s a pity Barney and the guards can ...
Advantages: Great location. Excellent service that isn't too Singaporean! New rooms with excellent features! Disadvantages: You will pay for the pleasure!
For those who have been keeping up with my Mandarin Oriental exploits then this is the third installment. Today I shall review one of Singapore?s finest five star hotels and let you into the world of Mandarin Oriental Singapore.
I have stayed at a variety of hotels in Singapore but none have come as close to the perfect stay that you get at MO. I last stayed here in 2007 when the hotel was just branded as The Oriental, however Mandarin Oriental have since renamed the property under their full brand, just to make you aware in case you read reviews on either of the properties, they are in fact the same. Just look for the ?fan? logo of the company.
I was staying in Singapore in between a trip from Malaysia to Australia and given my love for MO I knew this would be a good choice. Suffice to say I was not disappointed.

Advantages: Shopping, Cleanliness, Nice People Disadvantages: HEAT!!!
Uniquely Singapore!! This is this city's catch phrase. It can be seen on signs as soon as you walk off the plane the moment when you do depart and they wish you a found farewell as the plane departs this fine city.
I am not sure what I thought I would expect from Singapore. However, whatever it was did not even compare to what I found in this spectacular city!
Upon arriving at the Changi airport, one becomes completely in awe of the airport which supports it's own stopover hotel, free movie theatre and spa! This is not to mention the vast amounts of shops and restaurants.
~Immigration~
On departing the plane, you make your way through the beautiful corridors filled with live plants and flowers of spectacular beauty, to the immigration lines. As the airline had not handed out immigration cards before arrival in Singapore ...
