Please note that Pattaya is not all sex, smell and pollution. If you search hard enough you can find traditional Thailand - a huge gold buddah was just a short walk from our hotel and there are still temples here. But it may be a good idea to stay at the nearby Jomtien beach - a 10 minute songtheow ride. It is a much quieter, cleaner resort than Pattaya and allows you to experience the busy, thrill-seeking pace of Pattaya whilst retreating far enough way to have some breathing space. Day trips are also easy to find in travel centres around central Pattaya - try a day trip to Bangkok or (I would especially recommend) an overnight stay on little island just off Pattaya. ...The trip in Thailand was mine by last travel before marriage. Reputing, that after wedding I can not so often commit trips abroad, has decided to select exotic tour. The choice mine has stayed on Thailand. After several days in Bangkok, then in Cha-Am, I at last have arrived in Pattaya. This resort is rather popular among ours (that is Russian) tourists. Certainly, not, as Turkey or Egypt, but native speech here it is possible to hear, especially in shopping centers and restaurants. Than is known Pattaya? Inexpensive textiles, sea and, certainly, night life. Speak, that this city has realized life, when here stand the American seamen. They and now often can be met, in the company two - three girls. But besides, in vicinities of city is present much that interesting.

...at the Cholchan PattayaResort. It is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds, pool and very generous rooms. Our room was HUGE and all for a very reasonable rate. We seldom ate in the hotel, preferring to dine at small resturants around the resort and in the center of Pattaya. We found the food EXCELLENT! Just remember, if you think the food may not be to your standards, don't eat it. We enjoyed the local food. However, there is more Western food around. Cost- Prices start at about £20 a night!!

We took a few trips. One was a wonderful trip along the Chao Phraya River on the Mekhala. Day 1 : Bangkok - Ayuthaya - Mekhala (Lunch, Dinner)
Depart from your hotel around 8 a.m. and travel by minibus to Ayuthaya. Upon arrival, visit the archeological site of the once glorious capital destroyed by the Burmese. Lunch at a local restaurant...
