Hi, I was on business trip in Asia and the last place I would inhabit before getting back to the good old UK was Mumbai, now I had been through a hectic journey across China and Japan, and I wanted to make my last stay memorable at least significantly. I decided to try out this well reputed Indian 5 star recommended by a friend, now my previous experience in Mumbai was pretty good staying at hotels like The Taj, Oberois and Marriot (the best in India) ... ...wasn’t disappointed.
After checking in I immediately stopped at a restaurant in the hotel called Society, continental cuisine, and was delighted with the food, the Spaghetti Flamboyè was just awesome and so was the garlic bread and the wine. Hi, I was on business trip in Asia and the last place I would inhabit before getting back to the good old UK was Mumbai, now I had been through a hectic journey across China and Japan, and I wanted to make my last stay memorable at least significantly. I decided to try out this well reputed Indian 5 star recommended by a friend, now my previous experience in Mumbai was pretty good staying at hotels like The Taj, Oberois and Marriot (the best in India) so this had better live up to the expectation, I wasn’t disappointed.
After checking in I immediately stopped at a restaurant in the hotel called Society, continental cuisine, and was delighted with the food, the Spaghetti Flamboyè was just awesome and so was the garlic bread and the wine. I really had low expectations because compared to Oberoi (30 stories) and Taj (same) this was quite little structurally. I ate like a glutton and had spaghetti (awesome cheese), garlic bread, and a couple of starters (stuffed mushrooms and their exquisite sate chicken), after which I moved into the rooms which were good the executive ones anyway, cant compare to the UK but they were better than many Chinese 5 Stars with bath tubs, Bars, great views and stuff.
The pool was pretty ordinary to say the least and was smaller to than the one at home. One very important point I see in hotels is their hospitality, the staff was very friendly and very polite not to mention service was as good as any place in India in terms of speed and quality. Over all a great place and much more economical than other “big” Five stars in India. You can expect to pay about £80 for an overnight stay and £60 for only a day.
