Advantages: Amazing cathedral (Duomo), Last Supper, great ice cream :-) Disadvantages: Lots of stuff covered up due to maintenance, mosquitoes :-(
...PinacotecaAmbrosiana. We paid 7.5 € to get into the museum itself and here you can see works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Caravaggio and many, many others. The painting “Portrait of a musician” is one of the more famous paintings in the museum and it has been painted by da Vinci. I’m not sure if I understand why this has become so famous or what is so different about this compared to other portraits. Once again we were not allowed to take any pictures. Why is that by the way? Are they afraid that the flash will ruin the painting? Or are they afraid that people won’t come to see it if they have seen it on the net? The museum seemed to have been refurbished lately and well looked after. But I do get tired pretty fast when walking around in slow a slow pace in places like this so we didn’t really stay long.
It is fashion Dah-ling

Advantages: Good shops, architecture and food! Disadvantages: Cost and language.
...I only just came back from a couple of days in Milan so thought now was the best time to write with the memories fresh in my head. I had a really good time and would recommend it!
I went with my boyfriend from Saturday night until lunchtime Tuesday. So really we only got 2 full days. I would say 4 full days at most is all I could manage.
Not that it wasn't good, just there is only so much you can do and see.

We decided to go on the first day as we arrived there in case it was hard to find - how daft were we.
There is a metro stop at Duomo and as you surface from the underground the massive cathedral...

Advantages: Works by major British artists Disadvantages: A little pricey
...: William Coldstream and Michael Andrews, which finishes on 11th May, 2008. The connection between the two is that Colin St John Wilson wrote a book based on his experiences of sitting for a portrait by both Coldstream and Andrews. Wilson, who died in May 2007, was essentially an architect, and it was fascinating to see his plans and model for the first phase of the British Library, a building that I have not yet visited but certainly wish to, having seen this exhibition. One large photograph of the interior of the library could be seen from two rooms away through two open doorways; I must have toured a good few art galleries in my life, but I have never seen anything quite so cleverly thought out as this. Equally striking were sketches and a colour photograph of a library that Wilson designed for a primary school in memory of his father. Its...
