Advantages: price, service Disadvantages: seat pitch
...Boeing 737 with an average age of 9 years (unfortunately there are still thirteen 737, 200 series, which age is 40 years).
Southwest employees 32.000 people and for 31 years in row has closed the fiscal year with profits (meantime Alitalia, for instance, has lost a lot of money every year during the same period).
Starting with such basis travelling within the 49 contiguous states of United States of America is not expensive (the price for one-way ticket starts at 39 USDollars with a top cap of 120).
Southwest Airlines links 60 cities in the States, from north to south, from east to west.
The cabin of the aircraft is always clean. The aircrafts are safe (Southwest applies a very updated system to control and monitor the maintenance process).
The cabin crew is kind, attentive, competent and before, during and after the flight entertains you...

Advantages: Smaller than SFO, easy in and out, mor affordable depending on your airline Disadvantages: Not served by as many airlines as SFO
...If you're thinking of flying into San Francisco and using SFO, consider the cross-bay alternative of Oakland International. This is a fine airport that can save you some headaches and some money in the process.
Oakland is quite a bit smaller than SFO, but is still served by a number of West Coast, national and international airlines.
This also manages to be a pretty friendly airport, I think because they don't have to deal with the hoardes of frustrated travel that SFO has to handle.

Advantages: flying with United airlines was the best part of my trip to America. Disadvantages: does not cover all of USA
...I have been to USA on many occasions. I have flown with Virgin, American Airlines, Aer Lingus, and Northwest Airlines but none of these compare to my trips with United Airlines.
I flew with United Airlines 5 years ago on my first trip to Las Vegas. It was a very long trip from Belfast but it was a delight with United.
The staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive.
The in flight entertainment was wonderful, unlike American Airlines, and the meals served aboard were very enjoyable.
All the flights I have taken with United have been punctual and the attendants have been wonderful.
In the last five years I have made 6 trip from the United Kingdom to the USA with United Airlines.
I would not consider flying to the USA with any other carrier....
