...Because of a certain person in my family working for British Airways I generally get very cheap flights, but the thing is I want to get to Raleigh, NC, I have to get a transfer flight from JFK (New York Airport) to RDU (Raleigh Airport). And if I want a cheap trasnfer flight I have to use British Airways' American partner airline American Airlines.
Now this is all well and good, I mean we've all seen the adverts showing more leg room in economy, friendliar service etc. but the thing is American Airlines isn't just the big old Boeing 737 they have a little sort of add on company that is used to do domestic flights ie: to Raleigh.
So when I got to JFK and made my way to the check in desk I was still happy with my flying arrangements, then I got to the gate and realised there were only about 20 people ready to get on the flight. I...

Advantages: Good service Disadvantages: A little cramped for longer flights
...I have lived in the States now for twenty years and have flown from state to state numerous times using different American airlines.
I find that American Airlines is more customer friendly and has more access to smaller towns via AmericanEagle, a kind of shuttle. Very rarely have I had to connect at another airport. Flights usually run straight through to your destination, if it is a larger city.
The flight crews are most friendly and will cater to your every need. If you are flying stateside, you are only provided with crackers or peanuts and a couple of drinks. Meals were eliminated for national flights a few years ago. Usually, the seats are not assigned so seating is usually arranged on a "first come, first served
basis. Satisfactory leg room, for a 3 hour flight but beyond that I would find it rather cramped.
