...The Edison Hotel, New YorkCity:
Built in 1931 This glorious hotel is located at 228 West 47th Street. Here I will write up a short review upon my experience in the hotel last year.
Location:
as previously mentioned situated in one of the most dynamic sections of New YorkCity 228 West 47th Street, Directly in the middle of New York which means little walking distance to wherever you may want to venture.
Rooms:
Depending on what type of accomodation you are looking for, the Edison will be sure offer it to you. Personally our room was slightly better than standard due to us being on a work trip. Anyway we had two people per room, a king sized bed each, a mini fridge which was stocked up 2 times a day, lovely carpeted floors, TV (Full channel), Chairs, Lamps, Pictures, and best of all a laptop and access to the internet (Provided...

Advantages: Cheap, right by Times Square, friendly staff Disadvantages: Rooms may be too small for some fussy travellers!
...When I was booking a holiday for my partner and I to go to NewYork, I did a lot of research about hotels, locations, sight-seeing spots etc and then tried to find the best one out of a huge list I made. I didn't want to pay a lot for the hotel because I knew we wouldn't be in it much, and when I saw the Best Western name, I thought it would be a good idea to stick with what I know! So I booked 4 nights in this hotel in December 2005, my second trip to the fantastic NYC.
We easily got a transfer from the airport, and gave the driver the address which I had printed out before we left the UK. We speedily set off into the manic NYC traffic in our little yellow cab, and were there within about 1 hour, not bad considering the traffic! The hotel had a nice frontage, it was all gold, had loads of Christmas lights and little Christmas trees...

...THE AMERITANIAHOTEL – NYC
This is, by far, the worst hotel I have stayed in, in my entire life. First, I arrived with considerable baggage. An employee (by the way he was dressed I am not quite sure what he was supposed to be) stood in the doorway jabbering with another man. He did not offer to help me with my bags. So, I lugged them across the length of the lobby to the front desk. The girl behind the counter was rude. I took my key and lugged my bags across the lobby again to the elevator. The employee walked up to me and said, “Sorry about that. You see, it’s busy today’. It wasn’t! And he still didn’t offer to help me. I stepped into an elevator with a dirty floor.
Upstairs, I stepped out into a dreary, dark and dirty hallway. The flat, dark carpet appeared to not have been vacuumed...

The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
If you want to stay in Central New York then this is the hotel to book. It is actually IN Times Square! It's a huge modern hotel with over 45 floors so some of the views are great. There is a bar at the top which is a lovely place to have a drink,... more
Just got back from a 2 night 3 day stay at the New York and it was great! Hotel is in a excellent location, a 2 minute walk from the Disney Village and only 5 minutes from the Disney Parks. Check in was 3pm but the hotel allowed us to check in at 10:30... more
Postmodernism, eh? It's a funny old bag of fish. Even the holier-than-thou critics don't quite seem to know what it's all about. They argue whether it's
a) a revolt against modernism,
b) a progression of modernism,
c) both of these and more
or d) more
