I visited Hotel Amira in Hammamet, Tunisia in July 2009 for 10 nights. It was my honeymoon but we were poor and needed a cheap hotel. The reviews I read about this place before we actually went were shocking. I was really worried but we decided to go and make the most of it anyway. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. This hotel is nothing special at all but the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean although our bathroom had seen better days, the pool was perfect and the whole place had a really relaxed, exotic feel.
