...a year during the flowershow but during this time it doesn't matter if you have lived here all your life you will have to pay to go into your own town park. The really dumb thing about this is over the river is the West Mids Showground which is easily twice the size of the park and is never used at that time of year. SIR CLIVE OF INDIA There's a statue of him in the town square and the touist board would have you believe that he is a amirable person of historical note. The other more commonly held veiw is that he was a mass murdering f**khead. Do your research .. you decide !! I could go on but I wont incase the council take offense at my words and evict me from my home ... Advantages: Feels very different with only a 3 hour flight
Disadvantages: Not very restful - not a family holiday destination

...with the arrangement though - many of these streets are more or less out of bounds to large vehicles. Many of these hotels have been granted permission, subject, of course to safety regulations, to operate outside of the official hotel grading system, as being restored mansions, fitting lifts and other 'mod cons' is not an easy option. We had a superb room and bathroom, but it was still a three-floor trek to breakfast. We stayed in Amiral Tadfil Sokak (Admiral Tadfil Street) in what was actually the eponymous Admiral's house, now called the Angel's Home Hotel; so called because his wife's name translated means Angel. It is now run by Okkan and Hakkan, two brothers with a penchant for old American cars (our courtesy car from the airport was their own '55 Chevy BelAir) in turquoise (what else in Turkey?) and white.
