Dessert - These range from plain ice cream up to a cookie sandwich which is basically 2 huge cookies with the middle of them made up of cream, ice cream and delicious sauces.
Today, I had Calzone Siciliana, which was Calzone with ham, onion, pepperoni, and a beautiful tasty ragu sauce. My husband had a pizza called "The Hot One". It was thin crust and covered in pepperoni and green chilli's and a large helping of cheese. We both had a coke each and a portion of Italian style potatoes and the bill came to £17, which I think is reasonable.
The music adds to the ambiance, and "That's Amore" was playing as we left.
There were some families in the restaurant at the same time, and there seemed to be a plentiful...

...air, and the splendour of a scene I cannot compare with anything that I have ever seen in my life.
Signposts show maps of the routes that the walker can take, although here, I cheat, cross my garden, take the huge slopes, watch the rabbits at play, and absorb the view, the beauty, the completeness of this extraordinary place. Free access for everyone on foot. Unfortunately not suitable for handicapped people. The climb is too steep, although I hope those that share my review that can never go there take joy from the pictures of this place that I love.

Advantages: unspoilt Disadvantages: over run by americans
...is the hiking. To complete the whole route will take about 8-10 hours. You are rewarded with the most fantastic views but be warned the paths are not the easiest to walk along and anyone setting off should consider taking enough water and avoiding the mid afternoon sun. My personal choice was to let the train take the strain. If you feel you want to attempt one of the routes then the Riomaggiore to Manarola is the easiest and shortest along with being the only cemented path! For the romantics out there this path is called the ‘Via dell’Amore’ (love path) and takes 30 minutes unless of course you are in love at which point you sent your own timetable!
My thoughts on the five villages are as follows; I found Manarola and Corniglia the quieter and more private of the five. Manarola has an old baroque style church...
