Advantages: A very cheap holiday Disadvantages: night flights are common
...My first impression of Marmaris was while on a bus in the early morning on my way to my apartment. I could see how dependent on tourism the area is. The standard of hygiene wasn’t as good as I am used to. Certainly not up to the British standards. Electricity supplies are quite something else, to be thrown into darkness by a power cut at any given time is common.
However the people are very friendly, and eager to please. When you walk out on to the street, The shopkeepers and restaurant owners all seem to be on the streets ready and eager to ply for our trade.
Prices are really cheap, and lots of bargains are to be had. There are be hundreds of shops and restaurants open it seems twenty four hours a day
The scenery around MARMARIS is quite spectacular, and a voyage out in a boat is a must.
Overall MARMARIS is an excellent place...

Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: May be too hot for some people
...I visited Marmaris in August 1997. My first impressions of the town was that it was HOT, and when i say hot I really do mean it. The weather was absolutely lovely.
We spent a week in Marmaris, staying in a little apartment with dodgy air conditioning, but we didn't let that bother us.
Marmaris town is great, full of shops selling everything from fake designer goods to traditional Turkish goods, such as table ornaments and various souervenirs.
Marmaris has a vast selection of multicultural restaurants, you could probably have any meal you wanted, be it italian to traditional english. We discovered a little restaurant by the beach, which had sold traditional Turkish food, it's speciality was Turskish bread, it was delicious and even though i am vegetarian I still found it easy to find nutrious delicious food.
The nightlife is brilliant...
