Hotel Amrey Diagonal was great find. I booked via Otel.com and was charged 44pounds for a double room for one night. Including breakfast. I was expecting a run down hotel in the middle of nowhere but what i got was amazing.
The nearest metro stop is Glories. And outside the metro is the tram system. Get on the tram and stop at station at Pret IV. The stop is virtually outside the hotel doorstep.
The breakfast was simply amazing. The food was actually good especially the scrambled eggs. And there was enough variety for every sort of diet. Ham, cheese , fruits, fruits juice , coffee , tea and also muesli and even bran flakes.
The room that I got was room 1101. On the 11th floor. The view was simply amazing. From the room I could see Palau Nacional, Sagreda Familia and another castle , which I think is a castle outside Barcelona. Try to ask for the higher floors. You either get the view I got or you will get the view of the beach. The room was huge. The bed was a proper double bed. Comfy. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot and it must have been a power shower.
The location is actually quite good, as you can walk down to the beach. Its about 800 metres away. There is also a LIDL right in front of the hotel for your essential needs such as mineral water and fruits. There is also a shopping centre nearby. I didnt see many restaurants but there are a few around the area.
Amrey Diagonal is worth the money and a great stay.
