We stayed at the Botel for three nights in January 2008. Never Again!
To be fair we were looking for something relatively cheap and it sounded fun to stay on a floating hotel. The hotel cost us about £ 25-00 a night and we booked through easy jet. However as soon as we checked in we experienced problems as we were shown to a room with one single bed! The man tried to walk away whilst i was saying that we both wouldnt fit into this single bed. He shrugged and advised us that we would have to wait three hours before another double room was cleaned. I have never experienced such bad organistaion, it was as if they expected us to take a single bed!! Well off we went to check out the hotel's facilities. P.s. there arent any. Only a bar with a pool table a T.v some really old couches and a pinball machine.
Alas, we made it to our cramped and dirty room four hours later. It had a tinsy winsy bathroom and there was no shower tray so when we showered the water stayed on the floor unless we manually mopped it up with towels. There was a very small dated television and no other furniture apart from a bedside table.
"Oh well" i said, im on holiday so not gonna let it bring us down. You have to get a ferry to take you from the botel to the main dock in Amsterdam ( its next to central station). there is a timetable which runs every half hour but beware its freezing!
We went into fabulous amsterdam for the evening and had a great time however it was gone 1:00 am before we made our way back to the hotel and of course the ferry wasn't running at this time. No problem, you just have to phone reception and they send a guy in a van to collect you. We waited outside central station until 2:25 am before the guy showed up ( after three phone calls).
The next day with a bit of a hangover we were ready for some breakfast to cure our ills. Oh dear it was only 8:30am and all the eggs, bacon and beans were gone ( minus some dried beans on the carpet ) we asked if more would be served and the answer was a straight...... "NO". Luckily there was plenty of bread and some jam.
I like to think im easily pleased when it comes to hotels but i was tired and angry by the end of our stay at the Botel. Please STAY AWAY!. xx

Again another good review. Once again though I would suggest that you include a price and maybe an actual description of the room itself. You have a lovely writing style though. xx
PS - Welcome to my COT xx

Jam and bread are no where near as good a cure for a hangover as a fry!
